Unfortunately, we've not been able to take your Direct Debit payment. Because of this we've restricted your service to only allow usage of your plan allowance of minutes/texts/data.
Please make a payment as soon as you can by logging in to My Account, or you can call us for free on 500 from your Plusnet mobile. If after 48 hours we've not had a payment, we will have to restrict your service further.
Restrict it all you want PN - the account has been closed for months!
Stop hassling me and sort your billing system out!

I've seen reports of PN making negative entries on credit files over this sort of thing

@RobC no I haven't contacted them yet, I'm sorry to say I other fish to fry at the moment but will try to get hold of the mobile dept this afternoon.
I'm not sure why I have to do it actually seeing as it have been acknowledged on here that the account is closed, I would have thought an internal email would suffice.

Particularly as I thought the staff on forums were supposed to the creme and a cut above (despite probably still doing that as well) the ordinary run of the mill phone staff who wouldn't be allowed anywhere near a visible medium ..
Doesn't bode well does it.
I would PM one of the staff with a PM clearly headed 'Formal Complaint' detailing the issue and the number of contacts you have already made, and NOT accept any claims that that is invalid.
You need to be prepared to properly press and progress the complaint though. Too many just give up as its considered not worth the effort ... until perhaps you find some entry from PN on your credit file as some are finding.
.. at which stage I would be issuing a formal complaint with some short but reasonable time-scales (7-14 days) and preparing a letter before action for a small claims court as well as the more traditional routes.
