Totally naff router for anyone who needs to run on an IP address other than 192.168.1.x and has a separate DHCP server.
Strange! , it was suggested back at the start of this thread that the 2704 was similar to the 1704. Now I can't find the 2704 on the sagemcom support site but the 1704 is there and has all the abilities to set IP address,DHCP range and even disable DHCP ( page 4-4 of the manual , http://support.sagemcom.com/site/uk/broadband-access-9/sagem-f-st-1704-718

Re: ISP PlusNet Launch Faster Hub Zero 2704n Broadband Router

Don't know - I only used it while my other half was out and I don't have any problem at all with wireless on my TG582n so no point in checking that
Regarding the 1707 and other versions of the Sagem Router those use Sagem standard firmware which has a lot more options including guest wi-fi than the Plusnet variant
Looking at the 2604 it does everything I would have expected http://support.sagemcom.com/site/uk/broadband-access-9/sagem-f-st-2600-series-714/livret

How about stability and wifi ?
What a rubbish review....

I couldn't go any further - this router is incompatible with my current network.

So has the 'Advanced setup' option been completely removed from the PN firmware then ?

Re: ISP PlusNet Launch Faster Hub Zero 2704n Broadband Router

There is an advanced settings option which after confirmation they you may screw up your router allows access to things such as the firewall (very basic), DNS settings, DDNS etc. Very little to play around with in there as well really.

You can't even change the ip address of the router.  Sad

Re: ISP PlusNet Launch Faster Hub Zero 2704n Broadband Router

If it's a sagem, can the router not be flashed to Sagem's firmware?
Wonder if anyone would be able to attempt this.

You could brick your router.
It looks like OpenWRT is kind of supported also - http://wiki.openwrt.org/toh/sagem/fast2704

Why do you need the second router to be on the same range? This would only serve to make it easyer to get into and configure the secound router.

If (as I believe is the case here) you are using the second router as an switch and extra wireless access point its a PITA. Would it even route internet traffic that is not on it's own subnet? Would different LAN devices on two different subnets be able to talk to each other?

I'm a little cautious as that could be for another ISP specific configuration - I've already spotted a couple of firmwares available for Etisalat who appear to be an ISP.

They are Etisalat's firmwares.
There's a Polish forum where Orange users are discussing flashing their F@st 2704n routers.

Re: ISP PlusNet Launch Faster Hub Zero 2704n Broadband Router

it's as if they have went out of their way to stop you being able to use monitoring tools (routerstats and BQM etc)..... am i being slightly cynical here?
