Re: ISP PlusNet Launch Faster Hub Zero 2704n Broadband Router

The article on ISP review says it comes with one microfilter ( although the customer can ask for more free of charge ),
On this page http://www.plus.net/support/broadband/hardware/plusnet-2704n-setup-guide.shtml
Why has it been changed from the two to one ( this could cause problems for customers) microfilter PN ?
Under what's in the box , it say Microfilters, the picture shows one Microfilter, which is correct ?
How would a customer request more , can this be done at sign up , or do customers have to ring up to request more ?
Kind Regards
Mike

On the other router pages the picture shows two filters whereas this one only shows one

Re: ISP PlusNet Launch Faster Hub Zero 2704n Broadband Router

can anyone explain this new EU regulation with regards to being on standby?
when is a router ever on standby? when does a router ever have a standby mode?
they are either on or off, there is no middle ground (like a TV or DVD player for example).

Re: ISP PlusNet Launch Faster Hub Zero 2704n Broadband Router

Not the prettiest modem I've ever seen, and apart from a small energy-saving improvement, none of PN's cash has apparently been spent on uprating the specs over and above what the TG582n offers, so I guess the question which will be on many people's lips will be whether its Wifi performance is more impressive than the TG582n's. (I find it adequate, but I know many users don't.)

Plusnet have spent the last few years defending the TG582n's wifi, bit embarrassing if the replacement has the same spec other than a stronger wifi.  Grin

Re: ISP PlusNet Launch Faster Hub Zero 2704n Broadband Router

I bet they are following BT like when they released the Hub 4 and a few months after they released the Hub 5.
Maybe it would be called Plusnet Hub Ultra or Hub X. Or just Hub Zero 2.

Re: ISP PlusNet Launch Faster Hub Zero 2704n Broadband Router

Let's keep some perspective here, this router wasn't specced to be a top of the range router. It's a replacement for the 582n, that has a very easy to use interface and will cater to the vast majority of our customers.

Re: ISP PlusNet Launch Faster Hub Zero 2704n Broadband Router

don't think anyone was expecting top of the range.
would anyone class dual-band WIFI as top of the range?
would anyone class gigabit ports as top of the range?
you could have those two basic features alongside the easy to use interface.

It's not designed or intended to be such goldenfibre and basic performance is more important that your opinion of its appearance.
