You could always install wireshark, which will capture and categorise all packets https://www.wireshark.org/

@vilefoxdemonofdoom
Unless I have completely lost the plot Jeremy, your last replies do not seem to be related to crazydan7 whom you are probably confusing.
I assume they relate to Veri & 11110_110 posts, but you could make that clear. What Wireshark has to do with passwords is beyond me!
@crazydan7
Don't forget the passwords are case-sensitive, you might have made an error somewhere. If all else fails, do a factory reset and start again.

Re: ISP PlusNet Launch Faster Hub Zero 2704n Broadband Router

well this is the concerning thing, this is the second time i've gone through this, as i've already reset the box, so it's definately not a typo on my part, it's just mind boggling what it's set it to? would it be a case of it can't accept to many characters? even so, it shouldn't confirm it's done it if there was an issue. seems theres a bug in the firmwhere here.

Are you using non-alpha-numerics as well? There's a possibility it doesn't like certain characters.
Drop me a PM if you are and don't want to say which characters in a public forum and I'll try a bit of experimentation.

Re: ISP PlusNet Launch Faster Hub Zero 2704n Broadband Router

it's got a capital letter at the beginning of the password, the only other character that's different is a number at the end, the rest of them are standard letters and the length of the password is 26 characters

Re: ISP PlusNet Launch Faster Hub Zero 2704n Broadband Router

Hmm, maybe just the number of characters unless you know someone who has used a similar length with no issue. I'll try and have a play later this evening.

Since 192.168.0.xxx is a different network to 192.168.1.254 it's hardly surprising...

Foxy, I've changed my ip range for my router to 192.168.0.254, I hope that brings a little clarity to the fore.

Re: ISP PlusNet Launch Faster Hub Zero 2704n Broadband Router

I've just had a Plusnet fibre line installed and am using the new 2704n router.
I was assured by Plusnet sales staff that the router can support a 300Mbit link speed, which using 802.11n at 2.4GHz would require a 40MHz channel width with SGI enabled.
Having set the WiFi Mode to "up to 300Mb/s", I am not seeing 40MHz channel width to be an option. None of my devices link over 144Mbit/s and doing a WiFi scan shows the network as supporting 20MHz width only. Even on the router "Helpdesk" page the following is written, indicating that the router is still set to 20MHz channel width: 22 - Wi-Fi connections: Enable(802.11 b/g/n(up to 300 Mb/s))20 MHz
So, how do I enable 40MHz channel width, and achieve the 300Mbit link speed as advertised? Plusnet support are none the wiser...

Re: ISP PlusNet Launch Faster Hub Zero 2704n Broadband Router

300M is the maximum for 20MHz 802.11n. 600M is the maximum for 40MHz 802.11n. But reaching this maximum requires 4 antennas. More detail here.
I wouldn't expect more than 150M with 2704N - I doubt it has more than two antennas.
Has anyone seen more than 150M with 2704N's wifi?

Re: ISP PlusNet Launch Faster Hub Zero 2704n Broadband Router

The 2704n has a 2x2 antenna configuration, meaning it needs a 40MHz channel width for 300Mbit speeds at 2.4GHz.
Setting it to 300Mbit/s doesn't seem to enable 40MHz channel width however...

Re: ISP PlusNet Launch Faster Hub Zero 2704n Broadband Router

Checked the Sagemcom manual - it does have an "Advanced Wifi" page, which allows to set the band. As far as I understand, the corresponding GUI URL is http://192.168.1.254/wlcfgadv.html, which is locked down by Plusnet, but should be available in unlocked Matty123123's firmware. Unfortunately, I cannot find the corresponding tags in the text config.
Could you please provide a link confirming that 2704N has four antennas?

Re: ISP PlusNet Launch Faster Hub Zero 2704n Broadband Router

Do you have a strong enough signal? As the setting is "upto 300Mbps" perhaps if you are too far away and if that speed can't be achieved it won't increase the channel width?

Re: ISP PlusNet Launch Faster Hub Zero 2704n Broadband Router

This modem has 2 antennae and 2 spatial streams for a "2x2" configuration, as per the specs on the Sagem website.
Anotherone: I've tested it with several devices, both Macs and PCs, with 802.11n and ac chipsets, distance/signal quality is not an issue. None will use 40MHz channel width.
So, is there any way to enable this feature on the 2704n? Has anyone actually been able to achieve link speeds over 150Mbit/s?
