Plusnet Business is proud to be a part of The Press Business Awards 2013, taking place in York on the 21st November 2013. The prestigious awards ceremony will be held at the York Racecourse and recognises the achievements of businesses in York, North and East Yorkshire across a range of categories. Plusnet is sponsoring the Best Business and Community Link award, which is open to businesses that have forged positive links with the local community, as well as offering their staff opportunities to improve the lives of others. Building links in the community and giving staff the opportunities to help local projects is particularly important to Plusnet and we’ve set up a number of schemes to do just this. We support a local charity each year and run various fundraising activities throughout the year to raise money. In addition, Plusnet has a volunteering scheme available for all its staff, which allows employees to take time out of their working day to volunteer for a charity of their choice. On Thursday, we’ll be taking some of our hard working staff along and we invited a few of our long standing customers based in Yorkshire to attend the event. It has just been announced that BBC broadcaster Colin Hazelden will return this year as the master of ceremonies and director, actor and playwright Marcus Romer will be the guest speaker. He’ll be talking to the businesses about creativity. There will be a total of 14 awards on the night and it looks set to be a fantastic evening.
