Re: Plus net hub 2

@Broadband These drops are too close together for my liking.  Is your Hub connected directly into the master socket/have you any extension wiring (that you know of)?

For clarity, do you only have a mobile phone - the display is less than helpful?

Re: Plus net hub 2

@jab1 might be the same issue I'm getting, Error_no_carrier, but if he's had a active VDSL line before surely the same issues would have been present in the pervious providers connection?

@ghamilton123  - possibly, but you need to look at each users issues separately, they could appear to be  the same, but not actually be so.

It does appear, to me, to be an Openreach issue, but there appears to be a reluctance by the ISP to push it.

Re: Plus net hub 2

I'm uploading from a mobile, I was with plusnet anyway just taken a new deal. Because I was having WiFi issues I had plugged my old router back in so some are my doing, Think the hub 2 has been plugged in and left alone since last Thursday evening. Do you suspect the line has a fault ? It's plugged in and the master socket and extension has been disconnected

Re: Plus net hub 2

I'm aware you are uploading from a mobile, but I asked if you have a desktop/laptop  - uploads from them are much easier to read.

I suspect there is a fault somewhere on the OpenReach network, but I could be wrong.

With respect, you don't need to understand the logs, but we need to see them clearly.

I know I don't need to understand them but basics would be good to know what is good and what is bad

Re: Plus net hub 2

Last comment for tonight - without going back over this topic, I think your speeds/SNR figures are reasonable, what isn't reasonable -  IMO - is the frequency of DSL drops/disconnections.

Re: Plus net hub 2

I have managed to download the WAN log, it has dropped a few times but speed has Increased so assume it does this to tedt that the can handle these speeds and be stable. If they look ok or not please let me know thank you

Re: Plus net hub 2

@Broadband That is looking better, although I am a little concerned that your downstream SNR is very low for a previously not very stable line.

I suggest you keep a close eye on your performance for a few days, as I suspect you may have further xDSL drops/resyncs with such low figures - but I could be wrong - hopefully.

Re: Plus net hub 2

A quick view of the attached log file, all the link downs occur between 00:00 to 03:30 time frame.

Entries before 20 Oct to me look like Hub restarts as there are no DSL link down messages.

There have been six DSL Link Down, each time the speed increases with a change of downstream SNR

First message

01:54:18, 20 Oct. DSL Link Down: duration was 29212 seconds

01:56:32, 20 Oct. DSL Link Up: Down Rate=60043kbps, Up Rate=10174kbps; SNR Margin Down=7.1dB, Up=6.1dB

Last message

00:26:22, 02 Nov. DSL Link Down: duration was 252290 seconds

00:39:29, 02 Nov. DSL Link Up: Down Rate=72688kbps, Up Rate=11047kbps; SNR Margin Down=3.3dB, Up=6.1dB

Normally a DLM resync takes about 2 minutes but the above looks to be a bit more lasting over 10 minutes, maybe maintenance work?

As @jab1 says the downstream SNR margin is 3.3dB which is low, time will tell if everything stays stable.

Re: Plus net hub 2

I have just been assuming it was monitoring the line and increasing speeds accordingly, I think now at its peak so will monitor it and go from there. Will do same and download the file in a week and repeat cheers
