Fibre broadband router

I have been using the same Plusnet router TG582n, since August 2012. Surely we have moved on in those 8 years. Is there a more modern version?

Re: Fibre broadband router

I'm still using my TG582n, by all accounts it seems to be less problematic than the Hub One.

Yes, the Plusnet Hub One. This is a repackaged BTHome Hub 5A, first released I believe in 2013 with flaky firmware tweeked for/by Plusnet.

If your TG582 does everything you want then rejoice and leave it be.

I would agree. The router is only single band 2.4Ghz. There are only two in our household and not connecting multiple devices at the same time, so works for us. I do have a wireless extender just to give a stronger signal closer to where we most often use wireless devices such as phones/tablets.

Re: Fibre broadband router

Thank you both. I will take your advice and stick with the 582.

We actually have Box.com offering FTTP at very attractive prices and better speeds compared with Plusnet. The work gangs are all over the district so I will give them a few months to settle down and probably change over.
