Re: TBB Ping Graphs

Just noticed this - I'm on Plusnet Extra Fibre and use the service for general work use and VPNing to work. The family also do a fair bit of streaming, which accounts for the bulk of my bandwidth usage..
Hopefully this is the link

(I've just started the graph so it'll look blank for a while)
Edit; Large Graph link;

Re: TBB Ping Graphs

Hi between1and16cha,
It looks like you might need to configure your router to respond to pings sent, look at the guide <a href="http://www.thinkbroadband.com/ping/guides/routers.html">here</a>.

Re: TBB Ping Graphs

Thanks - yep
I have the TG582n Plusnet fttc (Plusnet supplied) device and I needed to issue
:system config WANMode=ETH WANEthPort=ethif1
:service system modify name=PING_RESPONDER state=enabled log=disabled natpmweight=8

The WAN port was set to ADSL as supplied. Smiley
Hopefully thats it working now Smiley

Re: TBB Ping Graphs

Large loss spike on most of the graphs this morning about 8.50am, no loss of connection going by my router logs.  But also two large maximum latency spikes at 9am and 12.50pm on a  few of the graphs.
Nothing but my router has been powered up until 40 minutes ago, the router calling home or something else?
edit: and again near midnight on 23rd, fair amount of loss on a few graphs at the same time

Can you move me to Extra 21CN.
You might as well leave the section heading for 20CN there as I should be moving back to 20CN in January

This hasn't been done. It looks like being over a month before I move (blooming solicitors!) and at the moment it looks a bit daft because I've amended the name of my monitor on tbb.

I know it hasn't been done Wink I've been enjoying my time off over the festive season too much to do it!
Will go back over this thread later in the week and tidy up the monitors.

Re: TBB Ping Graphs

The PN major outage at 10 PM last night changed my IP address to soemthing totally screwy. I've only just realised so here's my latest Ping graph.

Oops, good point!
As Jelv says, you really need to be on a fixed IP for this to work.

Putting graphs on to the page is only suitable for those on fixed IPs (until thinkbroadband sort out a suitable approach for people on variable IPs). They've got enough to do without constantly updating the page when someone's IP address changes and they have to set up a new monitor!

Re: TBB Ping Graphs

Thanks Jelv. How do I get a fixed IP? Do I simply ask PN & do I pay/ Are there any other advantages?

Re: TBB Ping Graphs

Mine's turned all red (following today's product change to Fibre Unlimited) although my IP address has not changed.
Hopefully this one works:
<a title="Broadband Ping" href="http://www.thinkbroadband.com/ping/share/0431f291c3fbb72e00c207d3dfaf887a.html"><img alt="My Broadband Ping - PN_FTTC_Unlimited" src="http://www.thinkbroadband.com/ping/share-large/0431f291c3fbb72e00c207d3dfaf887a.png" /></a>

[Edit] existing monitor has come back to life so please IGNORE the above request (though graphs need to be re-sorted for new product migrations) Smiley
