does this BT statement make sense?

Annex M less than plain ADSL2
also no mention of Fibre which is scheduled  for Sept 1

Yep that makes sense, enabling the higher upstream of Annex M can require ‘stealing’ some of your downstream bandwidth.

That is a little extreme. Let's not forget that this is an estimate and I would be very surprised if Annex M would take that much of the downstream to increase the upstream, it just doesn't seem proportional. However I'll dig around at this end and see what I can find out about that.

Looks like, according to BT, I could get 12Mbps - current profile is 6000kbps.
Did you see my second message, Adam, saying that already had router.

I am on plusnet Unlimited and was interested to see if my account would be upgraded to 20mb?
Would it be done automatically or would i have to raise a ticket.

Sadly Plusnet Unlimited is not a current product so the 'bulk upgrade programme' referred to in the blog is not applicable. I think you would have to change to a current product like Extra to get 20Mbps (assuming your achange has been upgraded to 21CN).

Yes if you did want to change to one of our newer products like value or extra, 20mb is available to you so we'd be happy to upgrade your service.

I am a Value customer that has already been switched to 21CN network, I have a very stable connection with router stats as below:-
Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 7616 kbps 448 kbps
Line Attenuation 38.0 db 20.0 db
Noise Margin 6.3 db 20.0 db
I have today raised a 'question' ID: 34618877  to ask about being switched to ADSL2+, the reply I have received says

Thank you for your question, we can move you over to the new up to 20mb Value package but I must advise that you might not receive any increase in speed.

I enquired when I was first switched to 21CN about ungrading to Extra and was then told I could expect a significant increase in speed.
Someone is telling porkies or am I missing something.

Probably the agent didn't look at the line stats and just stated the general warning as quite a lot of users won't - like me for example

@Hobo - looking at the graphs I've seen you should, based on 38dB attenuation, get just over 10Mbps so worthwhile doing
