If it's stable anywhere between the current speed and 9 you won't find me complaining if that helps
I'm just wondering what the benefit of moving to ADSL2+ was, as there has been no change since that happened (or to be more precise, the Gateway download synch speed went from 8.1 to 10.1, and BT IP profile went up to 9.09, but there was no change in PlusNets current speed, or in actual through speed, which remained at 6.7).
Of course, these figures don't mean a great deal to me (maybe a bit more than a week ago), I am still amazed we are talking about such speeds after living below 1Mbps for 2yrs!)
I need to be guided by your good selves here - should I be happy with the speed increase I have had, or should I still be expecting more? And would more speed mean less stability, which I certainly wouldn't want?
Cheers

The only thing I feel I should mention is that the line from the master socket to the router socket goes via two other sockets, in other words it is not one continous wire, but goes from the master into a socket, then a new pair of wires goes from the same terminals, out to the second socket, and then the same again to the third socket. So the potential for poor connections is there in the two middle boxes. But I have checked those connections very carefully.
Also I have not added the filter plate at the master socket.
As I said, I do not want to be a nuisance or drag this out unnecessarily, I am already grateful and happy with the improvement; but if you think altering any of the above would make a difference then I will do so (although I don't relish the prospect of completely new wire from master to pc!)

Everything still looks the same here -
Link Information
Uptime: 1 day, 18:44:06
DSL Type: ITU-T G.992.5
Bandwidth (Up/Down) [kbps/kbps]: 1.135 / 10.111
Data Transferred (Sent/Received) [MB/GB]: 242,78 / 1,52
Output Power (Up/Down) [dBm]: 12,8 / 0,0
Line Attenuation (Up/Down) [dB]: 20,5 / 39,0
SN Margin (Up/Down) [dB]: 6,0 / 5,3
System Vendor ID (Local/Remote): TMMB / ----
Chipset Vendor ID (Local/Remote): BDCM / IFTN
Loss of Framing (Local/Remote): 0 / 0
Loss of Signal (Local/Remote):0 / 0
Loss of Power (Local/Remote):0 / 0
Loss of Link (Remote):-
Error Seconds (Local/Remote):2.283 / 0
FEC Errors (Up/Down):0 / 0
CRC Errors (Up/Down):141 / 4.121
HEC Errors (Up/Down):114 / 18.404
PN current speed shows 7.1 (the same as it was before the move to ADSL2+)
My throughput speed is still 6.7 (same as it was before ADSL2+)
BT IP Profile has gone up to ~9
So would I be right in thinking I could expect another rise to 8+ if it was reset/corrected ?
Thanks
Keith

I wish I could offer beers all round, and some cheese and pineapple chunks on those little sticks
PN speed is now 8.9, and my throughput speed has gone up to 8.4.
Thank you VERY much, to all who have helped with this, I really appreciate it

I am playing Call of Duty online, and the difference is superb. AND I can watch golf on the internet while working, without it buffering every 10 seconds. Woohooo
Cheers

Quote from: _Adam_Walker_ I've just checked this for you, the line rate according to a diagnostic test I've just performed is actually 7170kbps at present
If it hadn't been for that this would have been sorted yesterday.
