Re: Surely I should get more than 0.93 broadband speed?

UPDATE:
Hi all,
This morning the bandwidth is looking better than ever, now at 10.1 down, but my current line speed is still showing 7.1Mbps & I have not been able to check my IP profile as it keeps getting stuck at the end of the upload test. It was always a bit unreliable but this morning I just cannot get past that point. Is it a case of waiting for everything to settle down, or does something need correcting again by one of the PN crew? Thank you once again Smiley

Re: Surely I should get more than 0.93 broadband speed?

I think your IP Profile will be 9090 which should mean a setting of 9000 for your current line speed. It might correct itself soon (it can take up to 12 hours) but if it doesn't you'll need to ask for it to be corrected again.

Op success. Around a tenfold increase in speed, just by 'fixing up' your internal wiring.  If only all speed issues were this easy!
As jelv says - your Plusnet profile needs to update and should kick in within 12 hours, (or as soon as one of the lovely Digital Care team notices this thread has been updated.)

Re: Surely I should get more than 0.93 broadband speed?

jelv, you're right, my IP profile is now showing 9.09, but current line speed is still showing 7.1 after about 13hrs.
so maybe Matt or Chris could assist again & correct this difference one last time?
Barry you are right, it is certainly a success, and I am very happy, & grateful for the experts watching over this forum Smiley

Re: Surely I should get more than 0.93 broadband speed?

Chris, Matt, just to confirm, no change:
Max achievable speed is 21Mbps,
BT IP profile is 9.09
Plusnet current speed is 7.1
and my synch speed is 10+
so if you could correct it I'd be grateful, that will be me sorted then Smiley

Re: Surely I should get more than 0.93 broadband speed?

You could try ringing up - they should be able to fix it. Make sure that you make it clear that (a) the problems on your line have been cleared (b) the only issue is that your current line speed doesn't match the IP profile and (c) you have already waited more than 12 hours.

Re: Surely I should get more than 0.93 broadband speed?

I've just checked this for you, the line rate according to a diagnostic test I've just performed is actually 7170kbps at present and our systems have a profile of 7100kbps which is the closest and most appropriate profile to suit.
An SNR reset may help but I'd prefer to see the connection more stable first as you've just moved over to 21CN.

Re: Surely I should get more than 0.93 broadband speed?

Adam,
thanks for checking this, BTspeedtest IP profile currently shows ~9 for me as compared to the PN current speed of 7.1.
But I'll be guided by you and the experts on this forum. I was following advice and reporting that I have seen no change since the move to ADSL2+ over 24hrs ago, so maybe that was pointless anyway.
But in any case, big improvements came from my re-wiring so I'm no longer stuck on 0.9Mbps Smiley

Please post the sync speed reported by the router as something may be adrift

I was thinking we'd nearly reached the end of this one but it's obvious something is wrong. Sad
