Trying to connect Orbi RBR 850 router to ONT

Hi,

I'm going round in circles trying to get my Orbi RBR 850 router to work. Any help would be gratefully received.

I'm wanting to use my Orbi Mesh router and dispense with the Hub2 altogether.

I've got Full Fibre and have read that I can connect my router directly to the ONT (without needing to wire the router into the Hub2 in bridge mode).

However, when I connect my router to the ONT I get no internet. I've used the Orbi app to guide me through all the setup, but can't get an internet connection at all. I've had a good look online, but can't find an answer that works for me.

Thanks in advance guys!

Re: Trying to connect Orbi RBR 850 router to ONT

 Hi, welcome to the community.

You need to configure the Orbi RBR 850 router Internet connection for PPPoE using your username@plusdsl.net and password pair. WAN port to ONT

Bridge mode for the Hub Two is only used for DSL connections.

Hi @tf123
Could you detail the Orbi setup you have tried?
Have you set up pppoe with your PN username and password?

Re: Trying to connect Orbi RBR 850 router to ONT

Fix

Hi both,

Thanks for your replies.

I've now managed to get it to work . . . I performed a factory reset on the router and that sorted it out. I was then able to login using the username and password.

It's working a treat.

Thanks again,

Tim
