I have a 22" w/s 1920*1080 monitor. The print I see when visiting sites is minuscule, less than 8pt. I have tried several ways to set it permanently to a larger size without success.
All advice welcomed!

In FF goto edit/preferences/content tab and change the Default font size there. If you aren't using FF why not? (FF=FireFox)

On my 22" 1680x1050 pixels screen,
that sentence (183 characters) requires almost the full screen width using a monospace (11 point) font - but only requires 11" (proportional font) as shown in the forum (full screen) - equivalent to just 4.3 points!!

I wish I'd known, but "stable door and all that". It was the one on free upgrade offer. I wonder how many others have been less than Dellighted.
Quote from: ReedRichards My advice would be to think more carefully next time you buy a monitor. 1920 x 1080 is a lot of pixels. 22" isn't that big, so you have a lot of pixels in a small space. I'm using a 19" monitor at its recommended resolution of 1440 x 900 pixels so everything else being equal I see things about 15% bigger than you do. You would need a 25" monitor (at 1920 x 1080 resolution) to see things the same size.

But you wouldn't see more with a bigger monitor - and LCD screens don't tend to run nicely at other than their native resolution.
Get a CRT if you want to mess with dpi.

Quote from: lucerne Firefox.
Sadly I'm an IE8 user (and some other browsers but not FF) so can't give specifics on FF, hopefully someone will do so soon.
(For the record IE8 has options on the View menu to adjust text size and overall "zoom", both of which "stick" so I guess FF would be similar.)
There are also many options in Windows to adjust text sizes etc. for those with visual limitations, operating across all applications not just the web browsing you asked about. It's nearly always best to run the display itself at "native" resolution and adjust with other settings.
The settings are better organised and more logically accessible in Vista/W7 compared to XP, you don't say which you're using?

Hit control and plus for quite a sight!
It might be big and a little blurry,
But he'll be able to see, so not to worry!
