slow replies on tickets

first reply took 3 days and the second reply is currently 2 days and counting  Cry
all im after is my IP Profile line lifting to 2000
after moving my router to differant sockets the ****** max stable rate has kicked in
my question to PN was why does my next door neighbour on the  the same pole ... same exchange on but onTiscali
not get hit by max stable rate no matter how many times he re-boots or turns off ?
and he gets better download speeds upto 2300
we are on identical routers .... plugged into master sockets and my BT test results say my line will support 2000kbps
Download speedachieved during the test was - 1302 Kbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 400-2000 Kbps.
Additional Information:
Your DSL Connection Rate :2016 Kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 448 Kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 1500 Kbps

Re: slow replies on tickets

i know its my fault by moving stuff about  Shocked

Re: slow replies on tickets

Re: slow replies on tickets

I think we have the same situation.....
just done a Bt Speed test
Quote
The Performance Tester is now testing Broadband connection. Your configured download throughput speed for this service is 1500 k

and the result is...............
Quote
Download  Speed
1311 Kbps

0 Kbps                                                         2000 Kbps
                                                                        Max Achievable Speed
Download speedachieved during the test was - 1311 Kbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 400-2000 Kbps.
Additional Information:

Your DSL Connection Rate :2016 Kbps(DOWN-STREAM),
448 Kbps(UP-STREAM)

IP Profile for your line is - 1500 Kbps

So I think there is little more you can do.....
I am on the end of a 63.5db Download Attenuation, and since 08:00 this morning have had aDownload SNR of between 5.6db and currently ... 3.8 db  which is about the same as yesterday....
Further information, I am on a wireless connection to my laptop.... the router is on the end of a 15 mtr hardwired extension with three phone sockets between me  (the router)  and the master socket. !

Re: slow replies on tickets

You need to sync at a speed of at least 2272kbps to get an IP Profile of 2000kbps. With 61dB attenuation 2336kbps is theoretically the maximum achievable sync speed (Kitz calculator) on a good quality line.

Re: slow replies on tickets

my neighbours connection is
Connection Speed 2304 kbps    448 kbps
Line Attenuation 60 db                  15.5 db
Noise Margin 8 db                          17 db
speed tested download at 1.99mb
mine this morning is
Connection Speed 1440 kbps  448 kbps
Line Attenuation 61 db                15.5 db
Noise Margin 9 db                        18 db
speed tested at 1.15mb

like i said .... same exchange .... same telegraph pole ..... same router
mine is plugged into the master socket
the only differance is isp
any ideas ?

Re: slow replies on tickets

Your ISP has no control over your sync speed, that depends on your connection to the exchange. You mentioned being plugged into the master socket - is that into the face of the socket or the test socket exposed if you remove the lower part of the master socket? If not the latter try plugging your router into the test socket (using a filter) - does that give a different sync speed? And what is the noise margin?
For a sync speed of 1440kbps the appropriate IP Profile is 1250kbps (which you have) and your measured download speed is consistent with that.

Re: slow replies on tickets

Can you do a BT speed test to see what it says< and post on here.....You may well have done several before, but we need to see "up to date" figures.....especially your IP profile from BT....
