I think you are the one who hasn't got something better to do in this instance.

You're right, I did. I went back to work instead of worrying about some terms and conditions  Smiley
I'm seriously asking, should Plusnet change their terms and conditions to cover every single future possibility of a site you might have to join to enter a competition just so a user is "fully able to participate in all the opportunities offered to Plusnet users"?
Sorry, that one sentence sounds like something straight out of whingers anonymous to me. As jelv said, it's like a red rag to a bull  Smiley

Re: iPad Mini competition

Well I didn't agree with the Ts&Cs suggestion as I said, but I can see where he is coming from, and I don't suppose he nor I, come to that, were worrying about it You obviously don't agree either which is fair enough, but you remark was still unwarranted IMHO.

Re: iPad Mini competition

I wasn't for a minute suggesting that the Plusnet Ts&Cs should be changed. What I was objecting to was that Plusnet blame us for not being able to enter the competition by not signing up to Facebook. They have committed a basic error, just because they all use FaceAche they assume everyone else will do so.
When doing anything else like that they should start from the point that all their users can access websites and have email, no more no less. They should not make any assumptions that people have signed up to any service other than those provided by Plusnet themselves and which are available to all Plusnet users.

Re: iPad Mini competition

One of the reasons behind doing the competition on Facebook is to get people on to our Facebook page. I'll make sure we pass your feedback on for future competitions, however I can't see us changing this one.

Re: iPad Mini competition

When you see competitions in magazines you often have something like "no purchase necessary, send your name and address on a postcard to ...". Not only have you not provided an alternative but the rules expressly disallow any alternative.  Sad

Re: iPad Mini competition

OK, OK, I was harsh....please accept my apologies.
Now, why does a company have to make a competition open to all users? It just doesn't make sense to me. There are thousands of competitions out there that make you sign up to a site to enter or similar. I think whoever runs the competition are well within their rights to set whatever rules or conditions they like. If I don't like those conditions I don't enter  Undecided
I guess we'll just agree to disagree, I really don't see what the problem is.

I don't use Facebook, but my girlfriend does and comments like that, whether said in jest or not, are plain ignorant.
There is simply no need for it. If you don't like Facebook then don't use it, but please don't insult people who don't share your dislike.

Re: iPad Mini competition

I expect that by delivering a load of private Plusnet information to Facespace, Plusnet will receive a few quid to pay for the "prize".
