I will say, im dissapointed that the unlimited package was not mentioned in early Dec when matters were highlighted.  More-so after more letter on the 12th!

Unlimited didn't become available until 19th December but was " sneaked" on forum the previous weekend.

With regards to NetWorx, unless I'm mistaken; you will need it installed on each PC that is hooked up to your router & combine the output from all of them to give you a true indication.

Re: from cheap to extreme :(

NetWorX will do that itself - all instances on the LAN communicate with each other.

You need to check that you're only counting your broadband traffic - not so easy with some routers.

That's a doddle with NetWorX it has an option to ignore the LAN subnet.

Re: from cheap to extreme :(

Just to add to what's already been said, with a better connection streaming is much more likely the be HD, and HD streaming can easily be 2-3Gb per hour. You need to limit your spend for the current month if you are unhappy with it, & change to the Unlimited product which takes effect from the start of your next billing date.

Chances are, as this thread is two months old, that the OP is now sorted!  Wink

Re: from cheap to extreme :(

RE: Anotherone
Early this year we switched to 'unlimited' and ive done my best to use the service to 'get my monies worth', so's to speak.  The issues at the front of this post regarding excessive use had not been resolved as bills were £40odd, £50odd per month for very little use - even days when we were not able to use the service.
There are less drop-outs since going unlimited, though at certain times of the day there appears to be restrictions on speed/service.
Other issues that have yet to be addressed/answered is attempts to take the DD prior to the first of the month.  This month it appears the DD was attempted prior to the first as ive had notification regarding failure of payment.  Funny how ive yet to have a response to theis matter yet, but no doubt posting of the forum will prompt a reply?  I do not except such a poor service provider at such high costs.  The reason i came to Plusnet was due to the fact they were suppose to be the most reliable (which will become critical for me in the near future), but in truths I am shocked - time to move on.  Lets see how long it takes to get my charges refunded and my MAC CODE...
as for 'trolling' other posts - I appologise whole-hearted, I did not know that this is so-called, and my remarks (the honest), were out of frustration.  Very sorry for that.

Re: from cheap to extreme :(

OK, I've seen your various apologies and that's fine. I can quite understand the frustration, but I can assure you that if you try and explain what the remaining problems are people will help to try and solve them. You will probably find that a lot easier and less frustrating than other courses of action.
I'm sure some one from Plusnet will address the Direct Debit issue. If you try and explain exactly what the remaining problems are in a bit more detail, various people may be able to help. Plusnet are generally reliable and there are few who think they are expensive, most think that they are good value for money, especially when you look at the support you can get.
So what exactly makes you think they are a poor provider, I assume that you still have some technical issues.
