Webmail Server Slowing

Hi all,
I have just noticed that the webmail (double clicking WEBMAIL tab on Plusnet Home page) is taking longer to load the the sign-in to mail account.  Once signed in it is taking long to download the inbox and also when replying to a mail it is taking long to upload.  I have checked my speeds and they are as they should be.
So, the question is : Is the Mail server grinding to a halt?
Any comments/your experience etc will be appreciated and, of course, the Digi Care Team can comment on the issue I have experienced.
Many regards.

Re: Webmail Server Slowing

This has been an intermittent problem for me for some time - refer my postings on http://community.plus.net/forum/index.php/topic,120794.0.html - however curiously it's fine today for me though not for you...

It is still slow for me.  Now, even the forum pages are slowing.  Come on PN please get these issues sorted.  Sad

Sorry we missed this guys, hoping things have improved now? Just logged in to my own account and it seems to be fine, please let us know if it's still slow though.

Re: Webmail Server Slowing

I guess it depends on whet you define as "fine".
I am currently seeing single emails taking between a minimum of 7 seconds and a max of 30 seconds with an average of about 12seconds.
Is this considered fine? I don't think it is but maybe I'm expecting too much?

Re: Webmail Server Slowing

Well, I only have one email in the mailbox but it loaded within a couple of seconds, which is why I said it was fine for me - but no I'd not say 7-30 seconds is fine, unless it's a particularly big email with a lot of images to load. Is that the case?
We're happy to look into any issues but the more detail we have the easier it'll be for us to find and fix the problem, if you could supply a bit more information that'd be great.

Re: Webmail Server Slowing

I have had 5 emails all of which were quite short. Yet  loading and sending was SO slow.
Yesterday was fine.. but previous days the Email has been very slow.
So frustrating.

Re: Webmail Server Slowing

I turned on FireBug and clicked on a 5K email (to open in the preview pane)
It looks like a request for preview.css?s=
which went to https://webmail.plus.net/plugins/calendar/skins/RoundcubeSkinPlusnet/preview.css?s=
took over 10 seconds before returning with a 302 containing

Sorry, we couldn't find the page you were looking for...
If you typed the URL, please check that the spelling is correct and any dots and slashes are in the right place

Is this the sort of detail you are looking for?

Sorry, Matt things are getting worse for me.  Today it took ages to load the inbox after log-in and same when sending a short one line email.  Sad

Re: Webmail Server Slowing

It's the opening [establishing a secure connection] of the webmail that's taking the time for me today on average between 15-20 seconds. Once I get the window up to login it's fine.

Thanks all, I'll get that passed on to our networks team and see what we can do about getting this sorted out.

Re: Webmail Server Slowing

I'm away from home & have to use webmail on coy laptop, and Webmail awful, unlike with other
ISP's webmails.
Slow to log in, slow to render messages.
Some @ +Net Towers should try from outside your offices.
