Re: Imminent Ofcom Market Re-Classification and Plusnet Pricing

That isn't a valid comparison
You have to take line rental from TalkTalk if you want their fibre and if you take the line rental from Plusnet then the price drops to £19.99

Or you could say it's a fair comparison of the giant writing in all the various ISP ads.
While ignoring the teeny tiny small print.
Something which is long overdue a close scrutiny by the ASA.

£19.99?  dont know where you get that from
https://portal.plus.net/info2/legal/price_guide.html#fibre
From the above(outside low cost area)
Fibre essentials ( with phone ) £22.99
unlimited fibre (with phone ) 26.99
line rental £14.99
talk anytime package £4.50
Line rental saver £137.88 (£11.49/month)
Talk talk (on talk talks LLU service, available in my exchange despite market 1 where Bt are the sole provider ( someones telling porkies there )
Boadband £3.50, add fibre (basic) £10, total £13.50
Broadband £3.50 add fibre max £15 total £18.50
line rental £15.95
anytime calls £5.50
line rental saver equivalent £126 (=£10.50 /month)

Re: Imminent Ofcom Market Re-Classification and Plusnet Pricing

I assumed you were comparing prices where Plusnet aren't screwed by the OFCOM mandated base cost

Re: Imminent Ofcom Market Re-Classification and Plusnet Pricing

Perhaps Plusnet should market outside low cost areas as £19.99 + £3.00 OFCOM premium.

Broadband: Andrews & Arnold Home::1 (FTTC 80/20)

Every ISP that still applies the OFCOM premium should do that!

- despite the old Market 1/2/3 pricing scheme theoretically coming to an end on 31st March.

So here we are in April.  What's the basis for the theory that the Market 1/2/3 scheme has now ended?  Can I persuade Plusnet of this?

Re: Imminent Ofcom Market Re-Classification and Plusnet Pricing

My ALR/broadband deal finishes end June so if nothing happens by then, I shall ,no doubt, be talking to Customer Retentions -especially as I have had yet another flyer from Sky offering 12 months free broadband if I move my rental and calls.
Reckon Sky will cost me ~ £8 pm more for the telephone elements......but no cost vs £16.99 pm for Mkt1 unlimited ADSL 2+ would be a no brainer.
