Following the recent events surrounding the security of our Webmail platform a decision was made to provide customers with an alternative offering based on the tried and tested SquirrelMail.
When moving customers across to the new Webmail platform certain information was lost in transit. This included address book details and some email that had been moved to custom folders whilst logged into the old Webmail service.
This has caused concern for some customers who have found that they no longer have access to important email addresses and emails that they used to have saved on the old system.
Over the next few weeks we will be offering customers the opportunity to have their address book data restored from the old database.
This will be done on an 'opt-in' basis and customers who would like their address book data restoring will need to raise a ticket to our support centre requesting that the details are imported across to the new Webmail platform. This can be done by visiting our website and clicking on 'Help and Support' > 'Help Assistant' > 'Email, Spam, Webmail & News' > 'Email Problems' > 'Webmail Address Book Details Are Missing'
Customers choosing to have this information restored will have the address book data imported for *all* mailboxes associated with their account. Unfortunately we are not able to selectively restore the address books for individual mailboxes.
Address book entries that have been imported will have an indicator by the side of them so they can easily be identified. Some customers may have already re-entered addresses into their address book so we have taken measures to minimise the potential for customers to end up with duplicate entries.
We are continuing to investigate the possibility of restoring email that had been moved to custom folders by customers using the old Webmail service.
