PlusNet Recommended in The Times!

As reported in The Times last weekend, many people on 18 month TalkTalk contracts will see these coming to an end during the winter months. The good news is that once this happens they will be moved to a rolling monthly contract, and should be free to leave with only 30 days notice. The better news is that if TalkTalk are notified in writing with at least 30 days notice prior to the contract’s end (please see section 10 of this PDF document), customers can migrate to another provider with no further payments or penalties! Do you know someone looking to leave TalkTalk? Have you told them what PlusNet has to offer? Do you know about our new referrals promotion? Given the way that Internet usage is changing (and increasing!) so dramatically, now is an ideal time to recommend us - especially given the £30 referral bonus! Internet users are transferring more and more data. People are keen to take advantage of higher bandwidth applications such as video streams and will frequently be using VoIP and possibly streaming radio or music at the same time as checking their emails and viewing websites. The trouble is, when a lot of people are all online at the same time slowdowns can occur, leading to pauses in the video stream, gaps and delays in your conversations with friends and long loading times for websites. Now we don't claim to offer an unlimited broadband service. Every ISP has a finite amount of network capacity, or bandwidth, available at any given time and the cost of supplying this limits the amount that can be offered. It’s simply not possible to have enough capacity for all users to be online and using their full connection speed at once. As such there will be slowdowns, and without the prioritisation that we use those slowdowns can affect everything. PlusNet were one of the first adopters of traffic shaping technology and we can choose which particular services have priority. This means that when the network is busier your web pages, conversations and other essential traffic will be prioritised, now matter how busy the network is. For more detail on how and why we do this please see our traffic management roadmap. Not only that but we are able to offer fantastic packages at affordable prices. Our Broadband Your Way Option 2 is only £14.99 with 8GB of included peak time usage - that's more than enough to view websites all day, every day, for the whole month, and usage between midnight and 8am is not counted towards your monthly limit. You can also purchase additional usage if you need to from just 75p per GB. If you choose Broadband Your Way Pro additional usage is available in 2GB blocks from £1.50. We’ve also reduced the price of our Evenings and Weekends Home Phone service to just £9.99! This includes BT line rental and all evening and weekend calls to 01 and 02 landline numbers. That means that you can get ‘up to’ 8Mb broadband, Home Phone line rental and all evening and weekend calls to land lines from as little as £19.98! Read more about our referrals offer!
