Use of Billion 7800DXL with Plusnet/Sagemcom Hub One for FTTC fibre

I know.  That's where we started.  I think I posted an earlier message after I discovered that, then started this thread a bit later, but I can't find my original.

The answer to "can you use Hub One with 7800DXL?" is "no".

Hence the move to the Huawei modem, and this thread about exactly how to connect and get working.

Simple answer is use the Huawei as modem, connect it to the Billion by a network port, then set the Billion to use it.  More complicated answer is that it needs some configuration setting that I can't yet find.

@arkay Ignore the Plusnet instructions apart from PPPoE connection and username & password you need nothing else in the router, as @Mustrum says the VLAN settings are done in the modem and are configured by default. The Billion user manual is the best thing to look at for help.
