MelCloud and Weatherlink Devices

Hi I have just signed up to PlusNet. Before I had full fibre my heating system using MelCloud and my weather station using Weatherlink both worked fine. But now the apps won't connect to the wifi. I have googled the issue and they will only connect to a 2.4Ghz connection. So I have disabled the 5Ghz connection but still can not connect. Other options include using extenders and connecting to a guest network or using a different router.

I am not very tech savvy and PlusNet weren't able to resolve the issues so I wonder if anyone here has come across this issue and found a solution.

Many thanks, Simon

Re: MelCloud and Weatherlink Devices

@SimonR1066 Welcome to the forums.I don't know either of those applications, but I  wonder if they are still trying to connect to your previous ISPs router? Do they have a factory reset option?

Re: MelCloud and Weatherlink Devices

Hi John, thanks for the welcome. No neither have reset options. Both devices just have a pairing button that works with the WPS button but they don't want to connect to the wifi.

@SimonR1066 In that case, I'm stumped. Sorry I can't help any more - maybe someone else can?

Re: MelCloud and Weatherlink Devices

@SimonR1066

See following to reset both devices. Once reset, reconnect as before.

Weatherlink

MelCloud

Once reconnected you should be able to switch the 5 GHz band back on.

Re: MelCloud and Weatherlink Devices

Hi Baldrick1, thanks for your reply.

The weatherlink console I have is a standalone console 6100UK that has no way of accessing a screen. In the past I have just used my weatherlink app on my phone that finds the console through bluetooth. From what I have been told by others it is the security of the router that is preventing the console from pairing.

And I think the same issue applies to the MelCloud. I did go through the Youtube video and tried that but they still are not pairing.

I am going to buy a wifi extender to see if that resolves the issue and hopefully I will be able to set it up easily.

Thanks again for your help though , I do appreciate it.

Re: MelCloud and Weatherlink Devices

@SimonR1066, before doing anything else. Change the WiFi SSID and password on the router to your old working one and see if they connect.
