My new Hub2 is showing some connected devices as unknown even though they have names. e.g. my iPhone and iPad have names but hub manager has no icon or name showing. My old iPad is shown with name. Any idea how to fix this?
Fixed! Go to the fix.

This rotates the mac address each time and will not reflect the device properly.
Switch it off and they should appear.

You are correct. The phone says it reduces tracking so I thought it best to leave it on. At least I know why now thank you.

Sorry to hijack the topic, but where do you find this setting? I thought I knew most of Apples quirks.😉

Doesn't appear to have been implemented on macOS (yet).

How do you do that? It seems to be on or off on my iPhone and iPad.

It seems to remember the name even when turned off again. I changed one name and it doesn't update on hub manager. I have refreshed hub manager and even exited it completely.

The 'paranoid' might like to consider that the logs of the Hub2 are uploaded to plusnet (or BT) for perfectly innocent reasons and adjust their personal 'paranoia' level accordingly.
N.B. Like your nym. Real bread and butter for tea. The theme tune to the Hovis ad. of old (directed by Ridley Scott) comes from Dvorak's "from the New World" symphony.

There's at least one RFC covering locally assigned/managed MAC addresses. What Apple do isn't outside the box. Doing the same on an Android is near impossible.
