Yes, doing tests whilst wired. Ordered Full Fibre 900, currently getting 250-525...

So, what is your estimated speed, how long ago was the change-over, and what is your current speed?

What kit are you doing the tests on, and have you tried a direct PPOE connection to the ONT?

[-Censored-] - had plugged the wrong cable in the back of the PC... got an Asus AiMesh connected to the router and had been plugged in to that whilst testing - plugged into the router and now getting 880Mbps plus

But now begs the question - why am I only getting 1/3 to 1/2 the potential speed when using the Asus kit...

You are only likely going to get close to the 900 Mbps using a wired connection directly to a router connected to the ONT
WiFi speeds will be restricted to the wireless interface being used and distance from a Access Point.
Superusers are not staff, but they do have a direct line of communication into the business in order to raise issues, concerns and feedback from the community.

Sorry should have clarified - The Asus node is wired to the Plusnet router and the PC was wired to the Asus node (originally). However it seems I can connect the Asus (AX6600) direct to the ONT and cut out the Plusnet router (eg https://community.plus.net/t5/My-Router/ASUS-XT8-settings-for-Full-Fibre-ONT/m-p/1955195) so that may be a better option to try.

So just to confirm - change the Asus to PPPoE, my username is the @plusdsl.net one, the password is the same as used to log into My Account / member center?

OK thanks, will give that a go. Not convinced the Asus kit is the best in the world but worth a try, plus one less hop between devices and the internet can't be bad

Tried that and performance halved directly connected the the Asus, and WiFi performance dropped off a cliff... back to the PlusNet router for now. Anyone recommend a decent mesh system...

Sorry about that, @tf12 . Afraid I have no suggestions about mesh systems - don't need anything as exotic in my little 2-up/2-down cottage.

Consider the FritzBox 7530 for your router. It is a highly recommended unit. I got one off CEX for £35 - if you want the better WiFi version (7530AX) they were about double the price.
I mention this because FritzBox have their own Mesh system designed to work with their routers. Not cheap I suspect but worth a look.
