i want to keep my sim and phone number but start a contract under my name so i pay monthly. as my parents used to pay for it for me. it has been cancelled under their name i just need to start a payment under my name.
Taking out a new contract is probably the easy bit. Transferring the number to you is likely to be far more problematic. I suggest that you ring in and talk to Plusnet.

Can't you just change the direct debit to your bank account and carry on?
Even if the account holder name is one of your parents you can pay the account - only problem would be if you didn't pay your parent would still be liable.
