I have a domain through madasafish and am trying to configure my email account on Outlook 2021 following a disc crash and rebuild but I cannot connect at all. It’s asking me for data that I don’t recognise so I’m hoping someone can suggest what I should type in as it appears impossible to get plusnet help on the phone these days.
outlook runs a wizard to connect to the existing account so something must be incorrect in my inputs. Here’s what I have to enter and the values I enter:
email account - myname@domain.co.uk
i choose Pop 3 settings…
app password - I have no idea what to enter here but it says that plusnet may need me to enter a specific app password for new Outlook for windows, it’s a mandatory field so I can’t leave blank but if I use my account password it fails
pop incoming server - mail.madasafish.com
port - 110
security - none
then smtp configuration…
smtp username and password - I enter my madasafish freenetname account and password, I know they are correct because I can log in to madasafish with the same credentials
smtp outgoing server - smtpmail.freenetname.co.uk
port - 25
authentication - none
smtp outgoing server - smtpmail.freenetname.co.uk
any ideas what I need to change pleas, it’s driving me mad!! Thanks
