In that case then, the only thing you will need to do is unplug from the upstairs plug socket and plug into the phone socket on the router. Honestly don't know if the BT phone would work, though.

My latest 'middle of the night' worry is my computer connects to the internet using an ethernet lead. It doesn't have wifi.
I am sorry to keep asking more things, I feel such a dope.
That connection is perfectly OK, and should continue to function.

We have a Panasonic base phone which is plugged into the phone socket upstairs and a handset phone downstairs. We also have a BT phone plugged directly into a phone socket in the kitchen.
Aa @jab1 says, the base will plug into the new router and the handset downstairs will still work.
The phone plugged into the phone socket will NOT work though.

Thanks! That's OK then, no problem there with moving away from Plusnet.

House phone extensions don't work with VOIP without some work. Quite easy with Full Fibre but a bit more complicated with SOGEA (FTTC without the phone).
As you have two DECT phones these will work as normal but you'll lose the BT phone in the kitchen. Can you add units to the DECT system you already have?
Did you check the OpenReach site to see what it says for Full Fibre?

@bmc Given the abysmal figures for this customers connection, I would hazard a guess that they are in a remote/hard to reach location, which mean FTTP is likely to be a long way off.
