nat problem???

hi guys this is my first problem with plusnet since we switched from bt.
trying to play my xbox online and it keeps telling me that my nat settings are set to stricked and it wont let me play on xbox live?
i rang the plusnet tech ppl and was told that i have to ring thompson directly as ,as far as plusnet are concerned my internet is up and running and my laptop will connect to the internet.
my service is with plusnet NOT thompson Angry all i want to do is change the NAT settings ,nothing major and the so called tech guys dont no how to assist me on this matter and my problem is with thompson.
can you tell me how to do it as im currently sitting here getting very wound up and asking myself why the hell did i leave bt.
thanks keith

Re: nat problem???

May be worth checking https://portal.plus.net/my.html?action=firewall to make sure it's not a PN firewall issue

Re: nat problem???

or you can check out www.portforward.com and search for your router type.

Re: nat problem???

Find the xbox in your router settings (Home Network, Devices) click on it and make sure you have "Always use the same IP address" ticked, then go to your xbox, go into the Settings, Network Settings and "reset to default", then run the "test xbox live connection", sign in to xbox live and problem solved no more strict NAT  Wink
