FIFA 14 Crazy Input Lag - Please Help

Can you enable QoS with the Billion router?
Not quite sure how the EA server selection works. Are you connected via ethernet? 79 ping to a European server isn't great if you're on fibre. Do they give you the server IPs?

I can enable qos,but the internet is barely used when I'm gaming.Only really my wife browsing on her phone if that.I don't find it very user friendly to be honest.I bought it when I was on adsI as it did make my connection a lot more stable.
I get a ping of 18ms on speedtest sometimes lower.It's possible the Billion router might be faulty?
Just to add I'm connected with netgear av500 homeplugs.They've been great on all other games.I'm not at home but can post a copy of a tracert later when I get in.

What's your current download speed?
It's unlikely to be your router that's the issue.
Homeplugs can sometimes cause issues with gaming (pings can vary quite a bit), but if it's not an issue with other games then that kind of rules that one out.

I get about 42 down and 10 up.I was on about 2 meg with adsl so you can imagine how happy we were to get fibre.I get pretty much same speed results on the pc which has ethernet straight to router,as I do on the homeplugs to the xbox one.
I understand I'll never get completely lag free gaming but with Fifa it's like running through mud a good deal of the time and sometimes as I play(only noticed when playing the clubs feature) it slows right down and then speeds up Benny Hill style as if it's skipping forward to catch back up. .But as Ive said,Ive only tried a couple of games since installing the new router so will have to give it time.

the bigger connection you have the more lag comp you get  only way to limit it is to use qos or change your mtu to 1400.you will be able to spot and shoot someone faster

Well got my Asus router and I am unable to get it connected to PN    Spoke to PN CS and have inputted all the relevant information and still no dice.  I have raised a ticket is Asus support.

I was thinking of getting an Asus today!Hope you get it sorted.If I do get one and get it working I'll try and help.

No I am on ADSL2+.  Pretty sure the router isn't faulty, must just be one setting that isn't quite right    And thanks for the help, think I will need it  
UPDATE
Managed to get connected but my sync speed has dropped drastically, I suspect my IP profile may have change.  What's the best way to sort this out?

Hi got mine today but I'm on fibre.I put my user name in etc, then it gave me an option to download latest firmware,so I did.Then the wizard connected me straight away.I don't know why yours would give you such a problem.
Unfortunately I presume you've been trying for a while logging in and rebooting several times in a short period.If this is the case it may be seen as your line being unstable so it will lower your speed!You will have to leave it on now, don't reboot it again.It could take a few days or so for your profile to return to normal.
Glad you got it working though.

Just to add to Andy my xbox one is showing 0% packet loss with the Asus and got an open Nat straight away so things are looking good.The billion was a few years old and I'd never been convinced it was working properly.

Not a clue either, at least it is working now.  Might call PN CS when I get home and see if they can change it for me.  If not then no bother,  I would take even more of a speed drop if it meant a lag free game on FIFA

I have played 3 games with the new router and I have to say it has been a massive improvement, lag has barely been noticeable like it was the the PN supplied router.
