Re: Speed decrease after signing for a new contract

Thanks for getting back to me @kwikfix

Absolutely I know it doesn't look good. Although I can see from testing your line, your router's getting a download speed of around 42mbps, which is within the speed estimates of your line and above your minimum guaranteed speed.

While I appreciate the confusion caused by the differing minimum guaranteed, the agent did the right thing still.

@Gandalf Although it is nice to hear you are seeing over 40mbs your end unfortunate this side I am not seeing anywhere near that. Nothing has changed.

Thanks for getting back to me @kwikfix

Could you retest your speed now?

There was a profile on our side stuck at your old sync speed of around 30mbps. I've prodded it up now.

Re: Speed decrease after signing for a new contract

@Gandalf Thank you.

Much better thank you, seeing 40mbs now.

I have taken the advice though from @RealAleMadrid and contacted plusnet and BT to transfer to a full fibre now.

Thanks for all the help.

Thanks for getting back to me @kwikfix

Excellent, that's good to see.

No problem, once you've got the order rolling with BT, I'd call us back on 0800 013 2632 so we can make sure we don't charge a termination fee, that may be either setting a marker on your account to allow a transfer without holding you to the contract, or manually cancelling your account, depending on whether they'll be transferring your phone number.

Let me know how it goes. Smiley

Re: Speed decrease after signing for a new contract

@Gandalf Thank you.

I haven't used a landline for over 15 years so I won't be carrying that over.

BT did me a great deal at £29.99 for Full Fibre 100 only & I have the engineers coming 10th of Jan.

Discussed the end of my Plusnet deal with one of your guy's as advised by yourself & it was him that transferred my call afterwards to BT who reduced my deal by an extra £5 so it was well worth the call thank you.

I believe a marker has been noted to avoid any cancellation fee & he advised me to call as soon as my BT goes live.

Re: Speed decrease after signing for a new contract

No problem @kwikfix

Awesome, sounds good!

We haven't placed a marker from what I can see, but that wouldn't actually help, because your service isn't being transferred to another provider if you're just getting FTTP installed without moving your landline number across.

If you can call us when your new service is working, we can manually cancel your account with no termination fees though.

Let me know how things go Smiley
