Inquiry for Full Fibre regarding Flat Installation

Hi everyone,
I hope someone can help me with this, I'm currently living in a flat in Liverpool & I have a existing contract with PlusNet (with the Telephone line still up), I was wondering how would the process go for full fibre regarding the living situation that I'm currently in as I'm just concerned about whether I need to let the people that I am renting out from know that full fibre work is taking place?

Hope to hear soon,
ArkhamMatt

Is Full Fibre available to you? You can check using the following

https://www.broadbandchecker.btwholesale.com/#/ADSL

If WBC FTTP shows in the left hand window what does the narrative below the results window say about the FTTP install?

When it is available you'll need landlord permission to do the work necessary for the install so you'd need to speak to them first. OpenReach may need wayleave permission to do any work.

Re: Inquiry for Full Fibre regarding Flat Installation

Hi there, yes it is available as I've just checked and deals come through for full fibre usage so the flat is eligible.

Alright, I'll have to ask for permission off the people in charge if I'm allowed to do full fibre into the flat, like you've just said.

Thank you kindly for your information & advice,

@ArkhamMatt2001

Can you post a screen image of the narrative below the results window about the FTTP install. OR may already know that permission is required.

As an aside, I assume you're aware you lose the landline when you move to Full Fibre.

@ArkhamMatt2001

PTSN is being withdrawn. Parts of the copper network will continue to be in use for a good few years. The connection from a property to a FTTC cabinet is copper.

If you wish to keep your phone number you can port it to an independant VOIP provider withing 30 days of your FF going live. Do nothing before this.

To post a screen image take an image and save it to your PC. Reply to a message and above the text reply box is a series of icons. Click on this one PN Icon.JPGand you can add the image to the post.

Big problem with that FF Broadband Checker, I don't know any details to input to even check as I don't even use my telephone so I actually don't even know it's number lol

Re: Inquiry for Full Fibre regarding Flat Installation

@ArkhamMatt2001

I'm looking to see the actual wording - what it says can tell you more about the install than you may realise.

For example does it say your property is an MDU - Multi Dwelling Unit (block of flats). If so, you may not be the first to ask for FTTP which would probably mean the paperwork for permission has been done. If you are the first, then you do the hard work so others may benefit.

Eitherway, you still need to check with your landlord. Once you have permission you place the order and see what happens.
