Don't know where you've seen that term, but I'm guessing it is a term used to 'describe' a Windows machine.
Nope!
"dos box" (should be "DOS box"?) was the original term for a window in earlier versions of Windows for running PC/MS DOS programmes and the old DOS CLI, COMMAND.COM.
Long gone from Windows (with the advent of 'real mode' 32 Bit versions of Windows), superseded by the current version based on COMMAND.EXE, the Windows Command Window (Command prompt) which cannot run DOS programmes. Though the CLI has many features and commands that are the same or similar to the original DOS CLI ones using COMMAND.COM.
From habit and for convenience many still refer to this as a Windows "DOS box" - though it could more properly be called 'DOS box', as the real DOS box is merely a memory.

100000000
100,000,000 - that is a 100 Mbps link
1,000,000,000 - would be a 1000 Mbps link
The laptop being used how old is it, any idea on the network interface details.
Maybe share the laptop Full model details, it might be the ethernet interface speed setting has be miss configured
The wmic nic where netEnabled=true get name, speed should reveal the 'nic' (network interface card) details

@baccini that's the details for the Wireless NIC , I understood you were using a wired (ethernet) connection ?
@Dan_the_Van minor issue with your wmic command , its doesnt like the space between name and speed
wmic nic where netEnabled=true get name, speed
works though

I think the 'FE' means Fast Ethernet , which is 100Mb. In which case it seems the NIC is only capable of 100Mb. That would explain why changing the cable made no difference

If it's important to you could buy a 1000 Mbps USB device, just make sure you disable the existing ethernet NIC

There is an equivalent Power Shell command which I prefer, (it doesn't mind spaces!)
PS C:\> Get-NetAdapter | select interfaceDescription, name, status, linkSpeed
interfaceDescription name Status LinkSpeed
-------------------- ---- ------ ---------
ASIX USB to Gigabit Ethernet Family Adapter #3 Ethernet 5 Up 100 Mbps
Realtek USB GbE Family Controller Ethernet 4 Up 100 Mbps
ASIX USB to Gigabit Ethernet Family Adapter Ethernet 2 Up 100 Mbps
Intel(R) 82578DM Gigabit Network Connection Ethernet Up 1 Gbps
VirtualBox Host-Only Ethernet Adapter Ethernet 3 Up 1 Gbps
Get-NetAdapter | select interfaceDescription, name, status, linkSpeed

That is indeed interesting.
interfaceDescription name Status LinkSpeed
-------------------- ---- ------ ---------
Bluetooth Device (Personal Area Network) Bluetooth Network Connection Disconnected 3 Mbps
Intel(R) Wi-Fi 6 AX201 160MHz WiFi Up 650 Mbps
ExpressVPN Wintun Driver Local Area Connection Disconnected 100 Gbps
ExpressVPN TAP Adapter Ethernet 2 Disconnected 1 Gbps
And that is with a Hub Two ... so is that just potential capability? The PN Hub Two is not WiFi 6 and I doubt it can do anywhere near 650mbps.
Easy to use WiFi Analyser reports the 5GHz band as running at 54mbps and the 2.4GHz band running at 144mbps.
