Re: FTTP Install How long For Speed to Change

Hi @mharvo  it can take a few hours for the account change to fully complete at the PlusNet end

In the mean timea few questions to try an establish if there's maybe a problem

1) what does your account say for your broadband service at https://www.plus.net/member-centre/broadband , particularly 'Current line speed'

2) are you using the Plusnet supplied Hub 2 router and the ethernet cable supplied with it to connect to the ONT

3) do you have a static IP

4) are you doing the speed test wired or wireless ( it needs to be wired ) and I would suggest using ookla as the BT wholesale one is not good with higher speeds

Re: FTTP Install How long For Speed to Change

Your broadband service

  • Product: Unlimited Fibre
  • Estimated Download Range: 22 - 25Mbps
  • Estimated Upload Range: 3.5Mbps
  • Minimum Guaranteed Speed: 20.4Mbps
  • Current Line Speed (Download): 550Mbps

Have not connected the Hub 2 still using old Asus RT 86 U Blue WAN port to ONT , speed has gone up as stated, 1 Gbps connection stated in ASUS GUI  tried all ethernet, mobile iphone pro 13  and Laptop  Legion 5 AX wifi and ethernet all show the same speed 70 - 78 for download and 70-76 upload at present.  Used Okla as requested...

Re: FTTP Install How long For Speed to Change

Problem not Fixed, no static ip address... my broadband service status is still Unlimited Fibre and Not Full Fibre which is now in place, will have to wait for Plusnet to update there end.

Re: FTTP Install How long For Speed to Change

@mharvo from that image, it doesn't look like your account change has fully completed in the PN systems yet

It should say something like below but saying Full Fibre 500

Re: FTTP Install How long For Speed to Change

No problem, happy to have been of help.

Iphone 13 Pro WiFi 5 Ghz speed 466 - 71 Mbps

That's pretty good for a wireless test. My laptop 5ghz Wifi maxes out at about 380 Mbps whereas wired it hits around 980

Re: FTTP Install How long For Speed to Change

Legion 5 WiFi 5 Ghz same room as router 500 -70 using AC and not AX 160 Mhz, the Asus RT86U maxes the 500 connection.
