When i disconnect......

Quick question...
As a rule I leave my router alone when I first got fibre I was happy running at 70meg without any problems....
But my misses turned off the router by mistake and we lost a meg then we had a bit of a WiFi issue reset the router and we lost more speed..
It seems every time we need to disconnect/reconnect we lose a bit of speed is this normal or is something wrong with my connection?
