Is it ok to manually reset my router daily if necessary.

Most days my speed is lower than I should be getting but liveable.If I reset my router either with reset button or speed it triples & is at the top of my expected range.Is it ok to do this when I need to.

Re: Is it ok to manually reset my router daily if necessary.

@khkats It is not really advisable - DLM could see this as an errorring connection and band your connection. Standard response follows:-

For Community members to be able to help, information from these two sites:-

BT Broadband (obscuring your phone number) and BTW Performance Tester - Please report the 'Additional Diagnostics', and sight of the Help Desk tab would be a start.

It may also be a good idea to report the results of a Quiet Line Test - dial 17070 option 2 from a (preferably corded) phone. After the confirmation of you phone number, there should be total silence apart from the regular 'Quiet Line Test' announcement. Any other noise - report a PHONE fault first.

@khkats

The key question here is are you saying that your speed over a wireless connection is dropping? If so is the same happening if you connect a computer to the hub using an Ethernet cable? If it’s not then this is a wireless, not a network problem.

Re: Is it ok to manually reset my router daily if necessary.

Hi probably wireless.I had weeks of this when I first joined & the customer service was brill in the end but a couple of engineers visits & phone line connected to wrong number is all very frustrating.So I just accept speeds when low.But trying same phone ,same server on wireless speed 24 changes to 74.Didnt test on ethernet as I never use ethernet.Just curious if it did any harm resetting when slow.

Many people have had issues with WiFi on the Hub1, there is an upgrade program going on, but if you are not on the latest version you could request it.

Log into the router, go to the advanced tab, then troubleshooting, then Help Desk, it will say what version you are on there.

Good on you. Alas you are on the firmware that has caused issues for some others.

It should be updated at some time - no timetable available, or you could try tagging @bobpullen  asking for the update, on the thread tagged above and you may get it sooner.

If you just go to the last post @Baldrick1  has linked, .page 174 and ask for the update he should do it when he gets a chance.
