As promised I am updating this forum with news...
I understand that BT have applied a fix which they hope will resolve issues with the speed tester. I am going to be testing this internally this week, but would value your assistance in re-testing your own lines. Please can you provide time-stamped screenshots of any failed performance tests you try to run.
I will then pass these back if they still occur (but hope that they all run as expected now)

@I.T. Works
I'll get on to BT first thing when I arrive at the office Mike. I'm sure we can find out why.
I'll drop you a PM if I need any more details.

Your speed test result did fail as below:
1. Best Effort Test: -provides background information.
Download speedachieved during the test was - 30.34 Mbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speedsis 40 Mbps-77.42 Mbps .
IP Profile for your line is - 77.42 Mbps
Before you raise a fault, was this on wired or wireless?
If wireless, then the overheads associated could have impacted the result. If it was wireless, try the test again on a wired connection to see what result you get. If that also fails, do you know how to create a PPPoE connection via ethernet to the modem?
Was anyone else using the connection when you ran the test (or were you downloading something at the time)?
Again, this can impact the results of the test.
If it still fails having tried the above, please raise a fault at http://faults.plus.net
Our faults team will investigate. With regards to charges, as long as you have proven the fault does not lie internally (ie, tested directly to the modem with no wireless and no other computers connected/in use) then the OR visit has no charge.
Hope this helps.
Steve
