Superfluous name sever listed

Following the move to the new ccgi platform I ran a DNS check and got two errors. I am no expert and wonder if any one can tell me what the errors are and how to fix if it is needed. My site is working.
"Superfluous name server listed at parent: ns1.plusnet.co.uk
Superfluous name server listed at parent: ns2.plusnet.co.uk
A name server listed at the parent, but not at the child, was found. This is most likely an administrative error. You should update the parent to match the name servers at the child as soon as possible."
Thanks
Andrew

Re: Superfluous name sever listed

I suggest leaving this for Plusnet staff to take a look at tomorrow. It looks like an inconsistency has crept into the DNS settings which they maintain.

Re: Superfluous name sever listed

Assuming you've used the test here?
I'm not convinced the errors are anything to do with the CGI migration, it's probably been like that for some time?
I'm also not sure it's an issue as such but I'll try and seek a second opinion.

The issue is that when you lookup plus.com at the gtld nameservers you get four entries returned:
172800	IN	NS	ns1.force9.net.plus.com.
172800 IN NS ns2.force9.net.plus.com.
172800 IN NS ns1.plusnet.co.uk.
172800 IN NS ns2.plusnet.co.uk.

However when you lookup plus.com at our authortative nameservers (ns1.force9.net/ns2.force9.net) you only get two:
86400	IN	NS	ns1.force9.net
86400 IN NS ns2.force9.net

It's an omission on our part really but it's been like it for approaching a decade and isn't going to cause you any visible problems.
Edit: I've raised a job to align the two sets of records however it's very low priority (ref: 131364)
