Re: Update on Plusnet email migration to Greenby

Thanks,
"As you've not migrated you'd log in as normal via ftp.plus.net (or settings on the member centre at portal.plus.net)."

Yes......  well..... I have another topic somewhere in here https://community.plus.net/t5/Everything-else/Webspace-full-site-locked/m-p/2028523#M39942   where i was referred to Greenby as my FTP doesn't have the permssion to do anything on the remote server. It was impossible to communicate with Greenby.

I had various at Plus Net scurrying around trying to find out which way was up with the webspace.
Nobody knew and the probelm still presists.

I have come to the conclusion that i am paying out for something that is totally borked.

If anybody's got a magic wand let me know. My contract runs out next Feb and I'll be off to Sky.
I'd be off NOW if it wouldn't cost me.

Re: Update on Plusnet email migration to Greenby

Thank you Tony, that's helpful.

One thing you didn't specifically address is "How will I even see Greenby's welcome email if it is sent to [email protected], when the nameservers are still pointing at Plusnet but the domain has transferred to Greenby hosting?  Surely this and all my other email will be lost until the nameserver is changed in Fasthosts to point to Greenby?"

Excuse my ignorance about how email works.  As far as I understand, after migration all my traffic will still be sent to Plusnet until I change the nameservers, where presumably it will be lost  - so how will I be able to receive an email from Greenby to tell me migration has happened?  Sorry if this is a stupid question, I would be delighted to be reassured that Plusnet will forward my traffic on to Greenby until such time as I change the nameservers.
