Salvage deleted emails

In a bid to reduce Plusnet mailbox sizes, I have accidentally deleted all the emails on the Plusnet Webmail server for the email address starting da....(in the last three hours)

Is there any way of salvaging these or are they already lost forever?

@Rosalee

Have you checked that you haven't just moved them to the deleted items folder?

Re: Salvage deleted emails

@Baldrick1

The usual action of webmail would indeed be for emails to be moved to the trash folder.  Unfortunately the new webmail platform has empty the trash folder on exit set!!  That is different to the way things were before.

@Marsh  / @LexLex2020  / @Windings  @Tina11192  - given the different working of the new webmail service, is there any chance of getting NetOps to do an emergency restore please for this user … as the usual emergency net has been removed.

Re: Salvage deleted emails

@Townman Should there be a warning about this change? Doesn't bother me, but there a lot of users that only use webmail who may fall foul of this variation in settings?

Re: Salvage deleted emails

...This is indeed concerning - sometimes one can accidentally delete a post without intending to and only notice at a later time. By 'new webmail platform' is the Greenby service meant?

The perception that the setting has changed has been raised to the business.

Re: Salvage deleted emails

Hi all,

I will raise a request to our net ops team to see if this is something they can do given the circumstances.

I will update once I have a response, usually within about 5 working days.

Leaving this here for me: REQ00916548

Typically, as I am sure you know, this is not something they usually do, will update soon though!

Thanks,

Lex
