Re: Plusnet email moving to Greenby

One of the mods may be able to unfix.

@redsox9 Maybe they should ask Greenby they appear to be good at unfixing something that has worked for years without issue.

Re: Plusnet email moving to Greenby

My last email in last night was 23.48 pm at which point I shut down the computer for the night.

This morning ass I complained a few messages up thread I was not getting anything - either on Thunderbird, or on Greenby's webmail, both of which would not accept log on.

Around 10.30 am  today communication started again.

I am a Force9 email customer, though  Greenby has it as F9.co.uk

Re: Plusnet email moving to Greenby

@redsox9  @Phaeton I inadverently "fixed" the Greenby migration a while back,  and had one of the mods unravel it.   I've since discovered another spurious fix - someone else's - and have managed to unfix it myself.  (sorry for any breach of protocol!  But as the OP I feel entitled to do this...)

IMAC server down.  Greenby Webmail cannot reach.   Further confirmation of "Not fixed".

Re: Plusnet email moving to Greenby

Kindly stop extracting the urine ...

Failed: connection closed unexpectedly by server

... and start providing a vaguely usable and vaguely reliable alleged 'service' Angry

This has been affecting all *.force9.net and *.plus.com A/Cs via both POP3 and IMAP for an hour or so now and probably for significantly longer. Totally f*cking useless when you need to receive the "we've sent you a one-time passcode" email in order to login to a site and cannot do so without jumping through this totally unnecessary hoop using this totally ridiculous email alleged 'service'  Angry Angry Angry

This problem is about as 'fixed' as the migration was seamless i.e. not even remotely Roll_eyes

B T Plusnet, a bit kinda like P T Barnum ...
... but quite often appears to feature more clowns

Until Greenby apply the next sticking-plaster, @ColdharbourDave , you are borked, sadly.

Re: Plusnet email moving to Greenby

Thunderbird just connected and downloaded 50 emails - up to 8:22 am today - so possibly/probably incomplete.

Greenby the 3 mailboxes (myself/postmaster & spam have reappeared - but cannot be accessed.

This is not a reliable service.

Imagine a company providing in 1994. They would net even have got any customers.

Pace daemon, CIX etc.

Re: Plusnet email moving to Greenby

It’s not only outgoing emails bouncing, but it also seems to be impacting incoming emails. I’ve had issues with emails from and to Quidco not arriving and disappearing into the ether. Plusnet being on the naughty step for sending Spam has wider implications than emails just being bounced.

Re: Plusnet email moving to Greenby

I've raised this question before without receiving a response.  Plusnet has always communicated with me -  notification of monthly bill, changes to account etc etc - by sending emails to both my metronet.co.uk email address and plus.com  address. Since migration I continue to receive emails from Plusnet to my metronet address but nothing to my plus.com address. And nothing in Junk mailboxes on Thunderbird and on Greenby webmail.  I should be really grateful if somebody from the Help Team could check if Plusnet is continuing to send emails to both addresses. And if they receive undeliverable returns if they do. Coupled with this and other posts here re Spam settings my metronet address receives any amount of Spam but there is never any Spam into my Plus.com address - not in Thunderbird or Greenby webmail.  One other oddity - emails from the same sources and same subject to metronet address can sometimes be treated as Spam and sometimes not in apparently random fashion.

Re: Plusnet email moving to Greenby

I'm getting loads of spam to my XXX@username.plus.com address rather than the legacy address Plusnet handed out in the 1990s following the data breach. This seems odd as I never use the XXX@username.plus.com address.

Because of the continued issues with emails to Hotmall and Outlook addresses being rejected I've started using one myself. Their spam filter seems far more rigorous than Plusnet's, but it is easy to control through webmail.

Doing so has highlighted that a number of emails from people like HMRC, my local council and other similar organisations to my Plusnet address have simply been not arriving and I assume have been blocked before they reach my spam Plusnet email inbox. So it seems the issue is affecting incoming emails as well as outgoing ones. It really does need sorting.

Re: Plusnet email moving to Greenby

Further to my message # 642 and failed emails from Plusnet.   I have noticed that the one which is successfully delivered to my metronet.co.uk email address is also addressed to postmaster@username.plus.com.  This plus.com copy is not delivered either on Thunderbird or Greenby webmail.  Looking back before migration these dual addressed notification emails were always successfully received.  They were addressed exactly the same as now.  I have not changed any Thunderbird settings for the plus.com email address. Presumably if it is addressed to postmaster@username.plus.com it is being sent so where is it going?  I ask again, does Plusnet get an 'undeliverable' response?   I should be grateful for a comment from the Plusnet help team.

Re: Plusnet email moving to Greenby

Hi @Mount

Thanks for posting and giving us an update.

Can you try logging into the Greenby admin page and checking for the emails?

Leanne.
