Afternoon all, going in to 2026 I thought my email had settled down and things where working, but oh no that's not the case today, I can get my mail via Thunderbird and on my iPhone but when I try and use Greenby's webmail from there portal page where you see your mailboxes, they either time out with 504 bad gateway or it tries to load but your inbox and all folders don't load and its all blank.
anyone else having issues today?

Yes, I've just tried with one of the trial accounts and webmail is inordinately slow.
Superusers are not staff, but they do have a direct line of communication into the business in order to raise issues, concerns and feedback from the community.

Connection to server timing out when retrieving emails with Outlook 2019.

I was migrated to Greenby mid-December and whereas the service has generally been OK I get the impression that it is slower than what I used to get from Plusnet. Today (4th January) it is ‘much’ slower and sometimes fails all together. A few minutes ago (~12.00) it had problems ‘authenticating’ and eventually failed, with error message:-
A warning occurred. - Authentication Failed. Your email account could not be authenticated. This may be due to one of the following common issues: (A) Incorrect username or password, (B) POP access is disabled in your account settings, (C) Your server requires an "App password" instead of your regular password, (D) A temporary server issue - please try again later. To fix this, open Account Properties, review your settings, and make any necessary corrections. Login (failed)
I’ve changed nothing here and in any event it works most of the time so I’m hoping it’s D – ‘a temporary server error’
Webmail does not work at this time although it normally does but is usually slower than what Plusnet provided, the error this afternoon being ‘this site cannot be reached’.
I am using OE Classic Pro 5.3.1 which has worked well for years. I’m hoping the weather can be blamed but I can’t help wondering if a few hundred thousand new accounts is proving problematical for Greenby?
Compliments of the season to everyone,
John

For at least two weeks now I have been having trouble with my Plusnet/Greenby email systems. Both Outlook and Thunderbird keep locking out and stopping. I have reported this to Greenby several times and although they keep offering me advice, nothing works and my email system keeps stopping and locking out. I get server failed messages, authentication error messages etc. Currently I never know when I can rely on a service. It probably has to do with the changeover but it is very annoying and I am unable to rely on a service for business purposes. Has anyone else reported this to Greenby and if so have you had any useful long lasting solutions?

I too am using OE Classic 5.3 and today 4 Jan have been getting the same 'A warning occurred...' message. I hope this is only temporary because I rely a lot on my PlusNet/Greenby email.
Interestingly, if I put a test message in the 'Out' box waiting to be sent, it goes out just before the warning message comes on the screen.

I was migrated in mid-December and have noticed a few slow periods. I wasn't bothered because I still had access to Plusnet webmail emails, that is, until yesterday. I can no longer log in using PN webmail, get login failed. So, now fully reliant on Greenby. Should I be worried???

I can get logged onto webmail intermittently but then it's hit or miss whether it will display anything or just give a server error. My Mac desktop email client is mostly connecting successfully to most mailboxes but stubbornly refuses to connect to one - though I have managed to login to it through webmail.
I may be imagining it but is the email system overall more flaky on a Sunday (prepping for a migration?) and again on Monday evening (cleaning up after migration?) and sometimes again on Tuesday evening (fixing broken stuff from migration?).

Greenby webmail is at https://webmail.greenby.com/ but I get login failure every time with my Plusnet username and password.
I found a very helpful person at PlusNet. She tried all sorts of changes to my mailer (OE Classic) servers and ports, also changing from POP to IMAP, but it still gave the authentication failure message like the one already posted in this thread.

Greenby flakey? You can say that again. Server either timing out or asking for log in credentials on plusnet.com.

For Davidheaf
Have you tried logging in to Greenby webmail with one of your email addresses, rather than your PN User+password?
I'm having problems today logging into Greenby webmail, so might be better to wait until in the week?

I'm also having problems with Greenby being Flakey.
I first had problems about 5 days ago and things seemed to return to 'normal' after a few hours. Today I am having problems again - email clients frequently reporting that they could not connect to the server, Webmail access either timing out or saying incorrect credentials, with the rare occasional success but quite often showing an empty mailbox.
Not impressed at all.

Haven't been able to log in to greenby webmail for a couple of days: I'm using Chrome on Android and K9 email client. Both fail to log in. I'm also in Madeira ar the moment but since it was working fine until a couple of days ago I don't think my location is an issue.
