Re: Plusnet email moving to Greenby

I also found an email from Octopus in my Greenby junk folder.

I've marked it as 'not spam'. Here's hoping the system will remember.

I wonder why it was junked in the first place. Are Octopus known for spam?

Sorry but Greenby offers no way to beg for them.

Probably, so to attract the attention of Plusnet staff it might help to explicitly tag someone.  Perhaps  @plusnettony can help?

Re: Plusnet email moving to Greenby

@Bookworms the Greenby system doesn't seem to be smart enough to remember what you think isn't spam. I was still getting things put in the junk folder after saying not-spam l(iterally every day in the case of one, legitimate sender) and having aggressiveness set to 10. In the 2 months since we were migrated I've had literally 3 real spam messages (guess I'm lucky compared to some people who seem to have been flooded with spam). I've now given up on the spam-filter and have switched it off totally.

P.S. Even email from PlusNet was marked as spam!

That doesn't sound good.

I've been fairly lucky with spam so far. I had a small flurry of it  just before the transfer, which was both odd and a bit concerning but none since that I can see... so far.

I did try to attract @plusnettony's  attention in post #574, but he never came back to me.  Is there another way to contact Plusnet?

@stuck

It turns out that my folders of filed emails hadn't disappeared after all. Outlook was only displaying the subscribed folders. Perhaps they were subscribed under Plusnet and became unsubscribed when migrated to Greenby?

I still have the new extra 5 folders that I mentioned but they are empty so I'm tempted to delete them.

Re: Plusnet email moving to Greenby

For anyone else who has the issue of folders disappearing after migration is supposedly complete, I have since found a thread about it (now I know what to look for!).

In particular, see the post from @Townman here: https://community.plus.net/t5/Email/Email-folder-s-contents-emptied/m-p/2035462#M57443. It would indeed seem that subscription status can get lost.

Re: Plusnet email moving to Greenby

@Bookworms Hope it works for you it didn't for me, even after whitelisting the email address, some & that's the puzzling part some still go into junk, whereas others come through, there's no reason in an AI mind

Re: Plusnet email moving to Greenby

Thanks @plusnettony.  I can now see the Inbox.  But the way the emails are listed is not like Webmail.  I was naively hoping for a smooth transition, but I guess it is going to be hard work from now on in!!

Re: Plusnet email moving to Greenby

Well, what a dreadful service Plusnet has forced everyone to!!   Frequent refusals of authorisation of e-mail addresses; an appalling service with, as elsewhere reported, a useless AI robot; and NO human contact possible at all.   As I suspect may others will do, I am migrating away from this service (in my case to gmail).   Which does, of course, raise the question of whether I should seek a completely new ISP!   Plusnet anchored people by providing an e-mail service - without that, the incentives to stay with them drops to zero.

Re: Plusnet email moving to Greenby

Although those of us who have a legacy personal domain from the data leak years back and don't want to lose it need to find an alternative host. I used to have an .eu one with https://www.strato-hosting.co.uk. Although they are based in Germany it worked fine. They only charge £10 a year, so I could move my domain to them and save a bit of cash.

Re: Plusnet email moving to Greenby

This is getting really silly, how do you stop the None Junk emails going into Junk?

Emails from Plusnet are going in there, emails from my Energy supplier are going in, even after Whitelisting the emails they still go in there, it's beyond a joke, I don't want to have to keep checking Webmail daily to see what it's fck'd up today

This is a god awful service, which the Plusnet board should be ashamed of themselves (if they cared) for forcing it through, but I suspect they know nothing about it, nobody will dare to tell them, not that they would do anything, they have already rrun away with their bonus's

That is the big question. Even whitelisting does not seem to work. Greenby's spam filter appears to be dyslexic.
