Re: Plusnet email moving to Greenby

@MisterW I have the same issue as @Rickmia18 - previously I could access Greenby webmail via the portal,  the option has now disappeared.  The aliases, edit-storage-space etc list of options is new,  but there no longer appears to be any route into webmail.
My email client (thunderbird) is fine, as is webmail via the Plusnet portal - but it's issue for me as the spam filtering appears to be all over the place - a much-increased quantity of dross in my inbox, and a worryingly large number of false positives (for which whitelisting appears to have no impact whatsoever).  I'd been informed by the AI bot that the spam issue would be addressed "once migration is complete" - it still says this,  but I understand that Metronet migration is now meant to be complete?

Re: Plusnet email moving to Greenby

Will we still be able to access our mailboxes via webmail after the migration as there's no mention of it in the FAQ? I'm reliant on this facility when away from home

Yes, at webmail.plus.net just like you do now.

Re: Plusnet email moving to Greenby

And now metronet email down.  Attempted login responds with message:-  server disconnected or network problem

Re: Plusnet email moving to Greenby

Yes, back up now.   This sort of thing was happening in the early migration preparation days so I wonder if this was associated with plusnet email migration prep.  (I have both metronet and plusnet addresses).

I will now go and check my spam box where much of my important email is deposited.  Greenby has confirmed that the basic xxxx@metronet.co.uk account is not given access to the whitelisting/blacklisting facility on the Greenby dashboard.  They are looking into the possibility of making it available.  l do wonder why they didn't do this before we were migrated

Re: Plusnet email moving to Greenby

Well my free-online account has just been migrated. BUT. My mail apps were not logging in with the bare username even though I'm told in the migration email

With Greenby, you can continue to use your Plusnet email address with the same login details.

But Greenby's AI tells me to log in with the full email address, not just the username (although that's what's used to login to the Greenby portal). And it's the mailbox's email, not the original default email: I have changed mine (so no longer username@username.free-online.co.uk) which caught me out for a while.

BUT #2. There is no secure login with SSL/TLS. I've raised a ticket to ask when this will be provided as it's unacceptable, especially over public WiFi. PlusNet were very slow to implement this (only 2 or 3 years ago) and before that I spent days setting up workarounds which now don't work either so this will be painful.

@plusnettony I can't login to webmail.plus.net with any permutation. But Greenby's AI says

Since you’ve been migrated and can log in with your Greenby details, you should use the Greenby webmail from your Greenby dashboard going forward.

That's OK by me.

Re: Plusnet email moving to Greenby

We had been told that Greenby will allow unlimited From addresses on our subdomain. Well yes but only if each one is set up as an alias in advance. I use separate addresses for each organisation I contact (100+ in use) so that I can identify them separately and mitigate spam. But they tell me they have not implemented the “authenticated open from” policy that PlusNet uses. This confirms one of my worst fears about this process, and I now wish I hadn't bothered getting involved. I already have a Zoho account with the same limitation so I may as well use that as my main email provider.

I have told Greenby's AI to raise this as feedback. I know others here have the same requirement so they can add to the feedback (if/when migrated). @dave please can you reinforce through your channels, the promise was that email service would continue with no changes.

Re: Plusnet email moving to Greenby

Was the catchall option on prior to migration? If so, you still can use anything before the @ sign. The mailboxes will come.

Re: Plusnet email moving to Greenby

I can receive by catchall but not send, aliases are required - so catchall becomes redundant

Re: Plusnet email moving to Greenby

So got a response from Greenby in respect of the ticket I raised about accessing my Metronet email through the Greenby portal.

They have provided a link.

https://webmail.enmail.co/

if I use the same log in details as I would use to log in to the Greenby portal the log in fails.

Oh well back to the drawing board - Another ticket raised with the AI robot

Re: Plusnet email moving to Greenby

Sussed it - I have always used my username to log in to the Greenby portal

if you use the link https://webmail.enmail.co/ to access Metronet webmail use your metronet email address - not your username.

Password is the same for Greenby Portal or https://webmail.enmail.co/
