Re: Plusnet email moving to Greenby

You have got that correct.

For the server names are they...

  • mail.plus.net / imap.plus.net
  • relay.plus.net

Or something else?

I'm wondering why you have received the email at this juncture, especially to an email address which is not that of the account owner.  From the super user discussions, accounts with hosted domains are at the back end of the programme ... but there are alignment requirements at the front of the programme.  Those accounts requiring alignment have received comms recently.

Superusers are not staff, but they do have a direct line of communication into the business in order to raise issues, concerns and feedback from the community.

Re: Plusnet email moving to Greenby

@Townman Thank you that is very clear.

I can confirm that for the emails which are of the myname@ourdomain.co.uk ilk the server names in Outlook are

  • imap.plus.net
  • relay.plus.net

We don't have anything set up in Outlook for the myname@username.plus.com emails.

Many thanks, I feel much better about it all now, fingers crossed for everything transferring smoothly to Greenby on 31st October (date in email from Plusnet) and then the later transfer of the domain and domain linked email addresses.

Re: Plusnet email moving to Greenby

I had similar issue @plusnettony investigated mine and couldn’t see a problem. The only potential reason is I’m using an alias on one of my email addresses and wonder whether that’s caused a glitch.

Re: Plusnet email moving to Greenby

So having now been migrated to Greenby for a month, I have just become aware of emails that were sent to my two metronet addresses which I haven’t received on my iPhone, laptop, and PC devices.

These emails would have normally been sent through under PlusNet. They and other emails which I was not aware of had been identified as spam in the Greenby webmail and stopped.

Having now identifying the emails as safe, I am receiving them on my iPhone, PC and laptop devices. I guess I will have to keep an eye on what emails are being stopped as spam by Greenby.

Customer has domain, so no, migration not happening on 31st October.

However, if settings aren't "standard", email may stop working on / after that date until corrected.

Re: Plusnet email moving to Greenby

It would to know the difference between the two systems. Did you have any “blacklists”? If so, did they transfer over?

Re: Plusnet email moving to Greenby

@plusnettony @Townman  If this is regarding my migration what am I supposed to do if contacted by Greenby at 31 October as I have already had a 30 day notice from Plusnet that our name@domainname.plus.com emails are transferring on that date. Thank you

@annjenni19

Its useful to know if you have more than one account - the account you've provided in your profile won't transfer yet.

If you want to PM the details of the email you got, I'm happy to take a look.

Re: Plusnet email moving to Greenby

Hi

I agree we have had terrible problems with the AI bots at Greenby. and the ticketing process.

It has cost us hours of time, money and frustration at the sheer incompetence of the set-up.

No phone numbers or direct email addresses for Greenby either. No sense of responsibility in running this type of Company.

Our family are long term Metronet clients. We have Metronet email addresses and started with them long before Plusnet bought tthem up.

Even after we raised numerous tickets with Greenby and requested a HANDOVER, the AI BOTS said they were doing that and an agent would be with us shortly.................

Really!!!!!   -- weeks go by and it looks like they close the question. No response at all.

More importantly Greenby are not shown as registered at Companies House.

So the next point is why would anyone pay money to Greenby if they are not a genuine Company. It's bad enough they have all our data but if they take your money and you can not call them up  up to question a problem, then this sounds somewhere between a scam and blackmail!!!

Enix is apparently the owner of Greenby but our relationship is with Greenby !!

Does not look like Enix have a phone number or email address for complaints either.

Looks like a very serious issue here.  What have Plusnet tricked us into!

@myk007

"I agree we have had terrible problems with the AI bots at Greenby. and the ticketing process."

I don't think you need to single out Greenby, there is a huge problem with AI bots, period. They are not the answer, neither are humans working down a flowchart, what is needed is real people with real experience & real knowledge.

Unfortunately the world is now based around a greed culture, get as much as you can as quick as you can & don't worry about the consequences for your customers. Hopefully the view will change & we will return to normality, however I don't think I'll live to see it. Americanism is taking/taken over the UK & it's a far worse place for it.

@myk007

More importantly Greenby are not shown as registered at Companies House.

That has previously been clarified.

Greenby is a trading name of Enix Ltd. Many companies do this to separate vaious aspects of their business.

Enix is apparently the owner of Greenby but our relationship is with Greenby !!

Your relationship is actually with Enix Ltd.

If you look at the footer of the home page https://greenby.com/ you will see

Enix Ltd t/a Greenby - 4500 Parkway, Solent Business Park, Whiteley, Hampshire, PO15 7AZ
VAT No. 05861377
Company No. 05861377

Re: Plusnet email moving to Greenby

I suggest people look at Enix Ltd - High Quality Renewable Energy Powered Cloud, Email, Web and Server Hosting. Four of the brands have reviews, some of the more recent ones being pretty damning - 'service rubbish after the migration' type of thing.

Note that Codestars.com supposedly have "over 2 million students" but no reviews and Greenby "over 1 million users" but no reviews. I think our new provider has got a lot of work to do, assuming they are in the slightest bit interested in delivering a good service.

Re: Plusnet email moving to Greenby

The Greenby website states:

"Welcome to your new home for Plusnet email"

It is a one-customer front, and has no other 'customers' than PlusNet

Exactly what I surmised in #318. I've since found that @MisterW stated it as a fact back in May: See https://community.plus.net/t5/General-Chat/Mail-services-from-Plusnet-sold-off-to-Greenby-com/m-p/20...
