Re: Plusnet email moving to Greenby

@dave this is getting very frustrating. I have opted out of transfer every single time I get an email about the migration, but the emails keep coming, including the erroneous one that was sent out a couple of days ago.

Are my requests for opt out not being honoured? How can I get solid confirmation that my data will not be transferred to the third party?

Re: Plusnet email moving to Greenby

Opt outs are happening shortly prior to transfer of accounts, your opt out hasn't been forgotten. If you wish, I'm happy to expedite  the closure for you?

Re: Plusnet email moving to Greenby

@plusnettony  The opt out form in the link in msg#165 is confusing, wouldn't the Plusnet username be more appropriate than first name and surname and what email address do you want, the contact email registered on my account or my Plusnet address that I don't use which still receives message from yourselves?

Re: Plusnet email moving to Greenby

I've not opted in or out.

Been going to the Proms - whose online booking system is even more dodgy than anything on here.

Anyway I tried various options logging onto the Greenby site - and it always returns "Something went wrong"

So I assume I haven't been migrated yet.

I am on Force9.

Re: Plusnet email moving to Greenby

Inspired by @ColdharbourDave I've also just had a look at the Greenby site. I don't expect to be able to log in yet as not been notified.  However there is info elsewhere that Metronet is to be one of the first batches to be migrated but in the Provider dropdown only Plusnet, Free-online and Force9 appear.  As a Metronet email user I'm perplexed or is there something obvious I'm missing?

Re: Plusnet email moving to Greenby

@Mount I'm in the same boat as you (Metronet). No emails, no information. Might have been worth Greenby posting some schedules on their site to stop people constantly asking here and elsewhere about this transfer.

Re: Plusnet email moving to Greenby

I have explored the Greenby site further and discovered a facility for having questions answered.  Asked 2 questions:-

1. When will migration be undertaken?    Answer    September.

2. Why no Metronet reference?     Answer     Metronet is not listed as one of the providers on the log-in window because the current supported providers for logging into the Client Area are Plusnet, Force9, and Free-Online. If you have any questions or need assistance related to Greenby or the migration process, feel free to ask! Have a great day! 😊

My comments  Q1  September is a significantly different timescale from that indicated by Plusnet  but with no explanation for that difference.    Q2  The answer basically merely confirms that Metronet is not listed but gives no reason which is what the question asked for.

Note of caution.  The answers are AI generated.  Welcome to the brave new world.

Re: Plusnet email moving to Greenby

Suggests re the opt out page have been discussed and we're looking at that.

Metronet doesn't appear on the drop down on the current Plusnet pages, so will be replicated and used exactly the same on Greenby once migrated.

@plusnettony

Perhaps to ask the question differently, after migration how do the brands not listed access email via webmail?  AIUI at present they do that via the MAAF user portal.

Superusers are not staff, but they do have a direct line of communication into the business in order to raise issues, concerns and feedback from the community.

Re: Plusnet email moving to Greenby

Full email address and select Plusnet in the drop down (as now at webmail.plus.net)

Re: Plusnet email moving to Greenby

Yes,  I've asked the question in a multitude of different ways;  e.g.  will metronet mail address be able to login on Plusnet dropdown.  Here are examples of typical replies:-

Metronet is not listed as one of the currently supported providers for logging into the Client Area because the supported providers are specifically Plusnet, Force9, and Free-Online. These are the providers that have been integrated into the system for managing hosting accounts, domains, billing, and support through the Client Area. If you have any questions or need assistance with logging in, feel free to ask! Have a great day!

Metronet is not listed as a supported provider for logging into the Client Area because the current setup only includes Plusnet, Free-Online, and Force9. This could be due to various reasons such as differences in service agreements, technical compatibility, or business decisions made by the service providers. If you have any specific concerns or need further assistance, feel free to let me know! Have a great day!

Yes, you can log in with a Metronet email address. When accessing the client area, make sure to select the appropriate provider from the dropdown menu, which includes options like Plusnet, Force9, and Free-Online. If Metronet is part of these services, you should be able to log in using your Metronet email credentials. If you encounter any issues, feel free to reach out for further assistance. Have a great day!

On the face of it appears that preparations have been made for Plusnet, Force9 and Free-Online but not for Metronet which is difficult to understand.  The if  and should in that third answer seem particularly significant.

With reference to Greenby not starting the migration until September it has dawned on me that this is probably because the Greenby AI bot has traditionally gone on annual holiday in August!

Greenby, as a brand within the ENIX group, didn't exist last August. 😀

Re: Plusnet email moving to Greenby

It would be very reassuring to know my metronet email address will be migrated to Greenby (at some date in the future).

My Thunderbird system uses the following:

  • Incoming server
    Server name: mail.metronet.co.uk
    User name: XXXX@metronet.co.uk
    Port: 110
  • Outgoing server
    Server name: smtp.metronet.co.uk
    User name XXXX@metronet.co.uk
    Port: 25

And after the migration to Greenby it will continue to work without any alterations.

If this is the case it would also be reassuring if Greenby also acknowledged, in simple wording, that metronet email addresses/accounts will be migrated to Greenby.

Unless you opt out, it will continue to work when migrated to Greenby - exactly as it does now.
