IMAP set up in Outlook

Hi

I've just got a new laptop, and I'm setting up my email again. I've never had an issue with getting Outlook to open with my FOL mailbox, but for some reason I can't get it to do it this time. The mailbox works OK, (I think the settings came across when the new laptop pulled over a backup of my old machine), but when I start up Classic Outlook, it defaults to a school  governor mail box on an exchange server, and it won't let me change the default to the IMAP FOL account.

What am I doing wrong?

John

Re: IMAP set up in Outlook

Have you tried to configure Outlook through Control Panel -->Mail?  Changes made here tend to stick.

Re: IMAP set up in Outlook

Yes. it comes up exactly the same. The suggestion is to disable the exchange cache, but none of the ways of doing that that Google throws up matches what I can see.

Re: IMAP set up in Outlook

Found what I needed!, I ignored all the advice on line and started from scratch.

File - Options- Advanced-Outlook start and exit

Seems obvious once you've found it 😒

Thanks for your help.
