I and many others suffered from that some months ago (though not with totalise), which tended to get worse the nearer to the end of an hour it was. You could try sending again soon after the start of an hour and see if that helps.

The last sending error was at 17:34 yesterday and it was an attempted test message to my wife's totalise email. Here is the error message I received (no such error message received for previous failed email sends)
This is an automatically generated Delivery Status Notification. Delivery to the following recipients failed permanently: * XXXX@totalise.co.uk Reason: A message that you sent to the following recipient could not be delivered due to a permanent error. ** The remote server ?? responded with: ** XXXX@totalise.co.uk ??:?? This message was created automatically by mail delivery software on the server .

I have successfully sent an email to a different recipient this morning.
