Cannot send totalise emails

The probelm is that the artificial AI's at plusnet for got to install STARTTLS (required for outgoing mail) 

curl.exe --ssl-reqd -v smtp://smtp.madasafish.com:587 -u xxxx@totalise.co.uk

 STARTTLS not supported.

All they have to do is fix that and it should work. I would mention this to them, but I cant start a new post

@JoeVolt1 Plusnet do not use AI. And, just FYI, that is not the cause of this issue, anyway.

Where did you concoct that command from?

The published email server connection diagnostics...

1. Does not specify SSL for totalise as it is not supported, never has been
2. The published diagnostics place the --ssl-reqd at the end of the command, if it is required

What has AI got to do with ?

I can confirm sending to any address (non-MAAF & totalise) is now working from all email clients.  Thank you @Townman  & @plusnettony  for your support in diagnosing and resolving this issue.

I can confirm that I've been able to send messages from madasafish to totalise just now.

Many thanks to the super users for helping sort this out.

Hi. Yes I am still getting this message. As of yesterday, I cannot send emails on totalise webmail/ Shows" SMTP Error (500):Failed to set sender "xxxxxxxx@totalise.co.uk"(<xxxxxxxx@totalise.co.uk> sender rejected (Blacklisted by local policy)).

What was the fix please?

At last I can send and reply to Totalise emails again. The Forum Team requested a reset and it is now OK. Thanks.

I am getting the following error when I try to email hotmail.co.uk (whether from Outlook on my desktop or webmail):

"This is an automatically generated Delivery Status Notification.      

Delivery to the following recipients failed permanently:

   * xxxxxx@hotmail.co.uk

Reason: A message that you sent to the following recipient could not be delivered due to a permanent error. ** The remote server ?? responded with: ** xxxx@hotmail.co.uk ??:?? This message was created automatically by mail delivery software on the server ."

I have been getting this since last Thursday (29 Jan) and also when sending to outlook.com addresses

For 2 weeks now I have been intermittently (but more often than not) being getting bouncebacks when I try to email hotmail.co.uk addresses from my totalise address. Incoming messages are fine but when I try to reply I get a message (addressee redacted) as follows:

"Delivery to the following recipients failed permanently:

   * XXX@hotmail.co.uk

Reason: A message that you sent to the following recipient could not be delivered due to a permanent error. ** The remote server ?? responded with: ** XXX@hotmail.co.uk ??:?? This message was created automatically by mail delivery software on the server ."

One of the attachments (addressee redacted) to the bounce back email reads as follows:

Can anyone please help? It is getting to the point where I cannot really use totalise to communicate with people with hotmail accounts. Thank you very much in anticipation
