Site Errors (Slow pages, slow posting, connection reset, uploads failing)
It's like that all the time, day or night, any day of the week, busy or idle, there seems to be no pattern to when it's good or bad

Several disconnects over the weekend, but as usual things returned to normal after 5 - 15 Minutes. Frustrating but normal.
Yesterday evening around 21:00 another disconnect, but 'prodding FF'; closing the tab etc failed to fix it. Checked router TG585 v7 which reported connection OK as far as PN DNS Servers. 'Disconnect ' and 'Connect' at Router didn't have any effect. Tried 'ping'; nslookup and Tracert in Command Window to BBC.co.uk and other sites - normal responses received but no connection to web sites. Other things to do, so left it overnight ready to do more work this morning. Surprise, Surprise! Working normally.
Today at around 15:00 similar to yesterday. Similar results, except that a Router Restart seems to have cleared it. For now.
I guess I've now got to get into full diagnostic preparation mode as part of each internet session. It all seems so valueless given that so many others are experiencing similar issues and have been for many months - Yet Plusnet do not appear to be fully engaged in getting a resolution in place.
As an ex techie I expect there to be sporadic problems on individual connections, but this ongoing issue looks more like something in the Plusnet Core network.
My Plusnet connection is now so unreliable (in my terms) to be safe enough to do Server Side changes or more than simple changes on the Websites I look after. Now resorting to only slightly dodgy 2G Mobile connection.

Nice post Maurice, but was this the right thread for it? I wonder if a new thread on Broadband and Routers might be a good idea to dig into your problem a bit more, and perhaps you could say which DNS servers you've got specified.

As a pedant too, I would agree, but being pragmatic, given CRT / DCT don't work weekends, to all practical interns and purposes, there is now just three and a half days left within which "an update 'next' week" can be delivered.
In the meantime the forum remains pee poor - I note that the mods are on the forums much less than usual - is there a cause and effect here?
