Re: Private Messages

That is odd, I can't even send you one either! I thought you would be able to do it by now.

Re: Private Messages

Don't quote me on this but I THINK the criteria is a minimum of FIVE posts after your email has been verified.

Re: Private Messages

I should restate what was said earlier for anyone reading this thread:

@Chris wrote:

Generally if you're looking for help or advice it's better to start a public thread than PMing someone straight away.

If you want to speak privately with staff about something then please consider using the chat feature on our website instead.

Re: Private Messages

Hi,

Welcome to the forums.  Given that this request is your first post, you'll not yet be allowed to PM.  IIRC you need to make 5 posts to enable PMing - but having made your first, go back and check.  Also have you verified your email address?

Note the comments above about POSTING rather than PMing to ask for help.

These measures are intended to inhibit using this forum to spam other users.

Superusers are not staff, but they do have a direct line of communication into the business in order to raise issues, concerns and feedback from the community.

Re: Private Messages

You should NOT be using PMs in that way. The person you PM could be off on holiday or sick for a while and the next thing will be you are complaining that they are not replying to PMs.

Just post in the appropriate forum.

Re: Private Messages

I hope it's not 5 posts to enable PMs otherwise the unread posts link I use as my gateway to the forum will become a real PITA Grin

Ah!  But this post is referring to the Mobile board.  They do things differently in Mobile - most detailed queries are handled by PM'ing one of the agents. Smiley6600

Re: Private Messages

After they respond giving you the name of the person to PM?

Re: Private Messages

Yes in my opinion, any problem you have make it public first and see what member of staff picks it up.

Then you know they are aware of your problem, and are working on that day.

You only then need to PM them if they need personal details which are not suitable to be posted on a public forum, such as real name, PlusNet username, address etc.
